This is the official countdown thread for the August 2006 MCAT score release. Scores are supposed to be released on October 14th.

Too bad the g/f dumped you. I was going to have my g/f check my score and then reveal it to me in the preferred order. VR first. If I get a 10+ or VR I will be ready to hear the rest. The VR was a *****.

In april 2005 JunebugUf's girlfriend at the time dumped him because he wasn't spending enough time with her due to MCAT stress. She was a med student so you'd think she'd understood.

Then in August 2005, gotgame83 posted a similar thing happening to him.

In April 2006 the same thing happened to Zephyrus.

What is with these girls???? I am a girl, but I think I would understand if the guy needs to study.

No I just have a good memory because I post in these parts quite often. And i also talked with Junebug in other threads regularly like the indian ones and the florida ones.

As per gotgame83, we used to talk via email bc he helped me out by giving me some MCAT stuff in exchange for things I had.

So Friday night I will be on my way to Atlanta (from Tampa) when the scores come out. It is an 8 hour drive and I will be in a van with other premeds who have taken the MCAT and have done great on it. I am torn between finding out my score on the way up, and risk crying if its bad. Or waiting until I can be alone somewhere to find out my scores. My fiance would check the scores for me and tell me over the phone. I don't know what to do. I have already been through the disappointment of a less then par MCAT score before (took test in April 2006).

Ah, another one going to Neuroscience 2006! I too am going with three other students, one who got a 34 on the April MCAT.....the other two are younger. I know, it is painful, but I say learn your score amidst others. If it is bad, it makes it easier to accept it, ya know what I mean? At least that is how I feel. We are leaving Friday as well and should arrive at our hotel at around 10 that night. I so hope the scores are posted then. Can you really torture yourself that long? Really? I can't.

I'm definitely going for the slow reveal with paper or cardboard covering up the screen so that I don't get it all at once. An overdose of a bad MCAT score is worse than an overdose of heroin laced with arsenic.

How sad, i too remember stories of people being dumped during or after mcat periods.

Im a girl as well and also find it odd how some people dont accept the studying need or the pressure associated with the scores. It strangely seems to happen to the guys more frequently.

no, friends do not use white paper to reveal mcat score. it's see through(if its computer paper) because your comp has a lot of light in the screen. i did this last time and it made me reach the disappointment stage faster. had i had black paper i might have been disillusioned for a few moments longer. white paper is like wearing just underwear and saran wrap(for girls) to a job interview...so unprofessional and you might get a faster rejection. take it from a pro now hahhahahah(pro about the score revelation part not the bra and saran wrap)

Thats going to be tough. The grade for the writing sample actually appears between the other numbers. YOu are going to have to abandon the paper idea and get someone to reveal your scores to you in the proper order.

Good question. The AAMC webpage says "on or about 10/14." The popular opinion here is that they will come out late friday night. I think that is how it has happened in the past. It is possible that "about 10/14" is later though.

I took the MCAT in April and our said that it would come out on June 20th and then the day before they updated to 10pm. So ours came out 10pm on June 19th. Yours will probably come at night on the 13th. Hope this helps.

Maybe I'm strange, but I kind of want to see the one I'm really worried about (PS) first. Unfortunately based on guju's screen shot it looks like verbal comes first though...:-(

Seriously, what the heck is wrong with the aamc. What do they have to gain by waiting until the last possible day to release mcat scores? In all likelihood scores were set a looong time ago. I refuse to believe they really did finish scoring everything on the 13th, a date they happened to set 2 months in advance. Alot of schools have application deadlines the next freaking day, so that gives me exactly 1 day to decide to apply to that specific school or not. This is just alittle venting that has been the result of 4 months of dealing with aamc BS--from studying for the mcat to now waiting on the scores.

I'm still waiting on my score to add more schools. Only have one marked down in case I did terrible on the exam. Still haven't narrowed anything down other than in-state because my mcat score will really determine if I stand a chance outside of FL.
