Umm... I still haven't turned in the immunization documents... still trying to get records. Looks like I stilll have to get more shots (Hep B / tetnus) and I'll probably have to get them while in Cleveland. Am I alone with that? What about microscope? You all deal with that already? ... I feel WAAAAAAY behind. (wish uci would have just given me the boot instead of stringing me along)

Hey Judd,

What about parking? Anything you remember about that. If I recall from when I took care of it, they said you reserve a space, but then they let you know later to pay... is that right? If so, about when does the pay part happen? I'm afraid I might have missed something and lost my spot?

You could start paying june 15th. the problem is, you have to pay all at once (all year)--I just borrowed the money from my folks and paid online with the mastercard. i think the last time you can pay for it and pick it up without forfeiting it is aug 27. you have 30 days to cancel for a refund.

then when I was in cleveland the other day, I went to the first floor in Crawford, they gave me a student id and my permit--she said i would be able to use it immediately, but as of the next day it wasn't working (the guard at the garage told me it might take a couple of days to kick in)

something to think about--when the vice presidential debates come to town, guess which garage will be closed? if you ask me, we should get some sort of remuneration for that.

I'll be moving in Sat or Sun. Its funny--I went to Cleveland three times last week--once just to pick up a stupid desk that fell apart while i was putting it together so i could bring it back here to return it (according to my local store, there are no office depots in c-land).

Mike--so are you moving all of your stuff in on thurs? you driving a uhaul?

Anyone else going to pre-orientation?

We have OfficeMax here in the C-land. I think we used to have some depots, but they went out of business.

I'm all for getting together the evening before the first day of class (wednesday the 4th) if anybody is interested - or perhaps even the weekend before. As I said, first round on me for the first ten of you (if we can get ten).

I'm just glad that they're not including our laptops as an invoice item. I hate being nickled and dimed. Our obscene tuition should cover it for sure. I hear we might be getting PDA's for our clinical years too.

A school *cough* uci *cough* that I took one (1!) class at charges me $10 for each and every transcript... I took the class before I actually started college (via the extension classes) so I know only too well... Every dept has to fight for their piece of the pie I guess...

look up your email address--the link to do that is somewhere on this thread. the first part of the address before the "@" is your ID. there's also another place where you can set a password, and that link is somewhere near the first.

I went to the Twing bookstore today. They only have ONE Case med Tshirt design! Thats pitiful! Are we going to get our own bookstore in the future? My parents and sister want tshirts and I dont want to get them all the same one, and the one they DO have is kinda fugly.

look on the bright side--they have hats and coffee cups too *shrug*
the lady at the bookstore told me that since they moved the bookstore, they don't have as much room for med stuff as they did at the other one (the other one apparently wasn't making enough money because everyone was getting used books and/or going to the other bookstores in town.) so they're only gonna have that shirt for awhile i guess--she pointed to that one corner and said "look...i don't have any more room there."
if you get one of those tho, keep this in mind--i usually wear medium or large--large if i think the thing will shrink in the washer. the case med tshirt i got was a large--and i'm never gonna put it in the dryer because if it shrinks at all, it won't fit.

about the bookstore...the one in the med school was owned by barnes and noble, as is the one in thwing. they want to build a big barnes and noble somewhere else on campus along with the building projects case is undertaking. so i don't think there will be a seperate medical bookstore in the foreseeable future, although there is still the one across from the cleveland clinic and that one on lee (leonardos or something)

Does CWRU med school admissions screen your appl. before sending you a secondary? I applied around 15th July or before and got secondaries from the rest of the schools I applied to - Univ. of Cinc. and UKY , Univ. of Louis. though 😕

Made it from LA to Albuquerque,NM on the first day of my trek. Then to Oklahoma City on day two (would have made it further except I wasted 3 hours backtracking after leaving my laptop in a restaurant )... This is day three and I think I'm half an hour past Springfield, MO. I'll be in Saint Louis in a few hours.

As an FYI to anyone, Holiday inn express hotels appear to have public access Wi-Fi spots. No passwords or anything needed. I pulled off for gas, and here I am. 😉
