Not that I took the MCAT or anything, this past August, but just because I feel like you all should have a thread like the one Crazy Cav had for us in April..........

Here it is, your official Countdown thread...................

As of now, you have 54 days, 3 hours, and 1 minute left til score release..........

Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😀 😀: 😀 :luck: :luck:

You know, I'm sitting here busting my chops to get these secondaries all perfect, fine-combing my essays, trying to take the "perfect picture" to attach, and trying to get stuff submitted promptly. And then it rolls across my mind, "what if all this work is to waste?" I just hate the thought that my MCAT score could turn everything upside-down if it is low enough. All the long nights of studying... the careful selection of extracurriculars, the planned solicitation of LORs, and now the "white-glove treatement" of my secondaries.... all this could be negated by a siimple test score. I don't know, it's not like I'm freakin about it. Just something in the back of my head... one of those twilight zone possibilities. 🙁

I think a lot of people are in the same boat as you are. I know I am.

Oh!! God!!
It’s only Saturday afternoon, and I don’t know how the whole week is goanna go by. It’s driving me nuts!!! But I am so sad!! That MCAT scores would arrive late… how much time left??

Requoting for further updates on this.

I don't like it when you requote the link so many times by now!!!!, my friend guju... i don't like it when you are so down on the tone... 🙁 🙁 🙁

I think it's good to totally block this thing out of your mind, because as it gets closer, I think one will just worry more and more, like myself.

Good luck to all of us on this long and important wait.

omg, thats too many hours!!! 3.29 weeks sounds alot smaller! tee hee

Funny how minds work differently; I think that 552 hours sounds shorter than 3.29 weeks. Oh well. At least we can both agree that either way it is still TOO LONG.

Seems like its right around the corner to me (Next week is already Oct.!!!) I've been staying super-busy with school work so the days just melt into one another as I pull multiple all-nighters just get stuff done. It's been tough, but I can finally see that light at the end of the tunnel. Hope everyone else is getting through alright too. It'll all be worth it in a lil bit 😉

hey guys,

I think the count down should be for the 15 not the 18 of OCT. AAMC releases scores 7-8 wks from the test date. Not exactly 59-60 days from the test date. I might be wrong, but that's what I think.

Okay….
Everybody…
I purpose….
One word, some words or simple phrase writing…
Till countdown….

Unless a breakdown or a dream or something important that drives you nuts while counting down and you want to write it out to vent off….

Just write on word about how you feel on a specific day about counting down

I will go first…
But with three or four posts…

Counting down…
Cold feet…

PS: no simlies for cold feet

OK, that does it. I'm locking myself in my apartment and watching TV Land for the next three weeks. I'll have my food delivered. Let me know when it's the 18th.

This is absolutely false. Actually, it is generally either the night before it hits 60 days or 60 days on the mark. That was the case after the April 2004, August 2004, and April 2005 tests. The latter two test dates were dates I took the test and I know this from experience.

The former test date was when friends took it, and they told me the scores were there on the 59th day after the test too. Arsenic810 who took it in August 2003, just one semester before that has said the same thing.

So in summary: YOU ARE WRONG

Furthermore,

Do not give students false hope that their scores will come after 7 weeks, because that is FALSE and giving them FALSE HOPE.

In the past 5-6 times it has been administered that has not happened, so I doubt it will happen now.

Does anybody know how schools with Oct. 15th deadlines handle August MCAT scores. For some reason it just struck me that scores will be released after the 15th and I might have made a mistake to apply to these schools. :scared:

I emailed TMDSAS with the same concern, and they told me that I should just release the scores as soon as they come out. I had expressed concern that the schools wouldn't get my scores b/c Oct. 15th is the deadline, and the scores won't be out until after that. The above was their response to that question. Hope this helps a bit. 🙂

I thought that the scores were automatically released to the medical schools as soon as they come, and one does NOT have to do anything with it? AM I right?? Help me?? 😕 😕 😕

Nah just telling it like it is. I hate when people post wrong facts, which are absolutely false. For something like this, it especially gives false hope to people who may be really worried and nervous right now. So I'd prefer if people stick to the facts, which is the scores most likely won't be out til the 18th.

What is TMDSAS??

Its the thing like AMCAS that all the Texas schools other then Baylor use as its official primary application. They use a match system too.

For the AMCAS, they are automatically released, but if you used the TMDSAS form, you have to release the scores via the MCAT Thx system on the MCAT website.

im getting antsy about scores anyone else? I kinda forgot about them, but i keep lookin at this damn countdown, and stuff in school keeps reminding me of some of the questions =/, and of course premeds talking about it doesnt help either

You shouldn't check the scores at midnight or else you won't be able to sleep regardless of the score.

DO you think it would be so horrible that I would faint right there? Yeah.. maybe indeed that I would be sad and cry and take everyone over my head and yell for the bad score that I get. Oh!! God!! It is scary.

I wouldn't be able to sleep WITHOUT checking my score... so you're pretty much gonna have a sleepless night either way. Just have a couple drinks, take a deep breath, and go to the MCAT website at 12:05 that night.

I thought Guju said the scores would be up at 1100 or so, then why hour late?

What's the day count folks? I'm dying here...

By tonight, there will be 21 days remaining. Or, 504 hours. Or, 30,240 minutes. Or, 1,814,400 seconds.

We're almost 2/3 done with the wait.

Man...I can't believe we're 2/3 of the way through this countdown...I really have no clue what I got, so when I see my score, hopefully I'll be like, "Okay, whatever!" But seriously...I'm just curious to know how well (or awful) I did...so this ain't a big deal for me if I do bad, cuz the worst thing that can happen is that I take it over again...we'll see...I know that I did horrible on the BS section...it really was bulls*** for me...so we're just gonna have to wait and see...question: JustR, are you R from the e-mcat forum? I figured so, but just wanted to make sure...welll, enuf of my rambling...got work to do!

Lots of Math there!! I am not too much a fan of Math!!

what's e-mcat? There's another forum? Why don't u guys post there?

I used to visit e-mcat earlier, but then people stopped posting, so I left, but my screen name used to be a different on there than what I have now though. But Now, who cares, I forgot the password, and I don't have much to do with the MCAT anymore, so I really don't use it. If I get a good score, then who knows, I will be a doctor oneday. 😀

Damn, are we off on the count again? I keep getting mixed up. 60 days from the test takes us to October 19th. We've been trusting guju's prediction of scores on the night of the 59th day at 10pm Eastern or thereabouts. We're waiting until the night of October 18th then.

So by tonight, we should have 22 days remaining, right??

(Proof that I too am getting anxious)👎

It's always been my experience that standardized tests are scored and returned in advance of the date given on test day. Does anyone have more info or experience with the MCAT in particular than the 60 days they said when we took the test?
