We had one match for each IR, Thoracic Surgery, Vascular Surgery and Gas. Pretty neat for our small south georgia class of like 50.

Does anyone if the DOs applying to psych has increased in the past 5-10 years, and if the match rate for DOs into psych has gone up?

Since 2020 the number of DOs matching in psych increased from 335 to 500 with total positions increasing from ~1,860 to 2,261. Percent of incoming psych DOs compared to total incoming psych interns increased from 18% to 22%. Bad news is match rate dropped from 83.4% (335/398) to 74.4% (500/672). However, the same thing happened with USMD applicants where match rate dropped from 89.6% (1,117/1,246) in 2020 to 84.8% (1,323/1,560) in 2024. Also, when I matched psych in 2018 the match rate for DOs was only 72.4% (237/327).

So psych in general is becoming more competitive while simultaneously being more friendly to DO applicants (from a preliminary review of NRMP data).

Which campus?

The anesthesia number I think was from all the campuses combined. Looks like the DR was from Elmira, child neurology and at least one of the PMRs was from Bradenton (based off of instagram posts)
