Brownybebs,
I am speaking as an alumnus of the MSP Program from this past year and will be returning for the IMS year. The most accurate description of what the program is like is more like what EZgoin wrote and less like what Geo18 described it as. I took the purpose of this program to be to show that you can improve and I can only speak for myself when I say I did that. If the program "hurt" anybody, which I can't see how it did, it was their own fault and cannot be totally blamed on the program administrators. When life gives you lemons make lemonade! The professors that past MSPers are complaining about were only 2 although they did teach 1 class each semester. Other than them, I thought the professors were great and I learned alot.
The MCAT component that EZgoin described is pretty on target. It was not the best situation, but there were some IMS students who did a great job and went out of their way to help us if we needed it, now whether or not MSP students actually took them up on their offer is a different story. People who felt like the IMS students were horrible teachers had the option of getting a tutor, but since they are complaining, I'm assuming they didnt do that. You will be around your classmates so much, that many of them can/will be a resource as well. If I had an issue with orgo, I would find the person in my class who it was no problem for and I would help them if they were having issues in another subject, etc. Just like anything, you only get out of this program what you put into it. No one expect that they will automatically get an A in every class and a 30+ on the MCAT just because they paid thousands of dollars. That aint gonna cut it! The most helpful thing that you will get from this program, is how to do what you have to do, to get where you want to go. Bottom line. I hope this helps.
