Just to let everyone know, I did NOT cancel these, or any other interviews, because of rumors of malignancy.

I canceled MGH, BID, B&W, UCSF, and Stanford purely because my family could not afford to live in Boston, SF, or Palo Alta. I would have loved to interviewed at all them and I fantasied about going to UCSF or Stanford, but it was not financially realistic.
 
Cancelling UT-San Antonio today. Heard too many malignant comments about this program.
 
Turned down UCSD a few days back. Decided I didn't want to live in San Diego/La Jolla, even though it's absolutely frickin' beautiful...

Sorry for taking so long, been busy w/ interviews. I agonized over that decision...really wanted to go but I've got way more interviews than I can possibly go on. You definitely begin to view these things differently once you go on a few, no?

I love Seattle...used to live there. Wife isn't too big on the rainy season, tho. I told her about the temperate, beautiful summers but it just wasn't enough. Hope it frees up a spot for someone else!
 
Had to cancel Virginia Mason today. Great program but I had to start making more cuts. Call them quick to scoop up my spot, if interested.
 
Plan to cancell BID. What is the etiquette? Phone vs email. What should I say. I just dont want to live in Boston anymore. Suggestions please.

Cancelling UMich, Rush, UChicago, Loyola - I really hate being cold. It is time for me to just admit it to myself! Hope 8 interviews is going tobe enough this year.
 
have not posted in a while here so these are not all recently cancelled (just so nobody gets mad thinking i held on this long)...

east coast: NYU, Upenn, Cornell, Temple, Jeff
non east: UCSF, VM, Mayo

this way i have money for x-mas gifts!

I just got back from Michigan. It was pretty sweet, if cold. Everyone there is super-friendly and very happy. I'll try to review it soon if I can.
 
canceled U of Maryland today. the relentless secondhand bad reviews got to me.


probably canceling CCF, RWJ and PSU in the coming days. soon as i talk myself into the comfort zone.

I agree...it seems like programs that I once thought had a good reputation are being turned away by you guys.
Just curious as to why so many ppl turned away cleveland clinic and baylor/UTSW!
 
Since most of the interview invitations are out by now I thought it would be a good idea to bump this thread.

If any of you are cancelling interviews could you please post the places/times here?

I'm sure it will be much appreciated by those of us who are sitting on just a few. Maybe we can call and get in? Who knows...
