this year they said that they have a relatively "new" admissions committee, so the criteria for getting an interview/acceptance may not be the same. i remember her saying that they have adcom members from all over the place (i remember tufts being one of the schools).

I was considering having the president of my school write them a letter asking them to re-evaluate my application, but then I received an invite from my reach school which really raised my moral. Sorry for sounding sour with my initial post, but this is grad school, they should pick the best and most qualified personnel for the job. We, as applicants, invest so much physically, emotionally, and mentally, that we don't need to be misled by these schools admissions coordinators....Nonetheless; I want to congratulate all those that have received interviews & acceptances this cycle, you will make for great dental professionals!

Omg FIRST INTERVIEW!!!!!!!!!!!! I've been worried sick. But I didn't receive any emails or phone calls, just the change on AADSAS portal. God forbid if this is a mistake of some sort... On the positive side, I finally get to post on this thread. 😀

Like tunaman stated above, this school seems to be weird. I to have been offered interviews at schools I didn't expect to hear from. Not sure what turned them away but I really only applied there because I was told it was easier to get in than most other dental schools. Being a newer school I figured it sounded about right. Bahaha guess not!

Don't give up hope. I know the feeling when I received 6 rejections and no interviews last year. Its not a good feeling but don't give up!!! Its still too early to call. A lot of the dentists I have talked to have said that they all know or were applicants that were admitted the DAY before classes started (spring interview).

yea i am lucky to have 5 interviews so far and one of them being UCSF. I am looking forward to that school

Yeah I'm a DE resident and I received my invitation to interview at UMD on 9/13/12 by email (interview tentatively scheduled for 10/3). I turned in my secondary application on 9/12/12 (without the video).

How come u submited secondary before interview notification? I thought we must got invite to finish supplemental.
 
Nope. It's typically invitation for secondary first and then a day or two after that is submitted, you should get an invitation for interview. Hope that helps!

i called on monday to check my status and they sent a "decision letter". The lady confirmed it was a rejection letter. I just received that letter today in the mail.

Yea I actually called earlier this week after I read your other post... So I knew that the rejection letter was going to be on its way

I don't know! I imagine they would, they sent a follow up e-mail too afterwards.
