Same feelingAt what point does hearing nothing turn into something bad? Like if you hear nothing from 14 schools, does that mean come December 1st when rejections are 'allowed' to be sent out, that it will lean more towards that? I feel like this whole "no news is good news" thing is good, until December 1st, then with my luck I'll get 14 snail mail letters of rejection lol @_@
On that note, I have been quietly lurking keeping my diary entries to myself. Family got a puppy so it has eased the waiting period by quite a bit 🙂
Same feeling
I applied to 15 schools, no interview! just one rejection 🙁 I am eating cheese cake right now. I need calorie! I talked to my medical student friend who told me he had some interviews in Feb and March last year and then got acceptances. we need to wait bro. There's only so much cake a man can eat to fill the void of no interviews...![]()

So no news is better than bad news 🙂schools can reject you anytime they want.. they don't have to wait until december.. that's just for acceptance

That 15 gen chem =( hurts the math doesn't matter as much but the 15 =(Most schools won't even look at your application with a 15... You need to retake the exam if you don't get in this cycle.

I'm in the exact same boat. 14 schools and nothing, except for my first rejection last Thursday from my state school. When it comes to applications "no news is good news" doesn't necessarily hold true. I wish dental schools would let you know ASAP if they're going to reject you. That way you can move on and start thinking about your next game plan... But it is still early! Let's not lose hope yet.At what point does hearing nothing turn into something bad? Do you mind me asking how long did it take for your aadsas status to go from under review to interview?
My aadsas went from under review ---> app complete (when I completed the secondary) ---> under review again during the weekend.
Can I get a whoop whoop!?!?!

When people say they change residency , is the school the one that determines that, or is it the state itself ?I heard it is possible if you change your address, get a MD license, buy house, or have a spouse working there, etc, etc.
Not sure how strict, but it isn't impossible like some states.
I believe you turn in all relevant documents at what not to the school, so I think it is the school who determines it.When people say they change residency , is the school the one that determines that, or is it the state itself ?

Do you mind, if I ask you last year and this year stats? How many interviews did u have last year? and How many this year?what aspect of your application were lacking last year?I'm a re-applicant and luckily this cycle has gone better than the last. With that said, last year I didn't receive the rejections from schools until Feb/March - I applied fairly early (4th batch maybe) and they were silent for a longggg time. While waiting, I was trying not to lose hope but still thinking about whether I should start planning to re-apply and focus on making my application better for the next cycle. For those who applied early and are without interviews, specifically by December/January, I can't stress enough to start shadowing, taking additional classes, or working on whatever aspect of your application may be lacking. There is still a fairly good chance you'll receive an interview or two, but the more you can cram in during those 5-6 months, the better. Hopefully all of you get interviews before the cycle closes and the additional work will just be a bonus, but looking back I would have definitely regret not doing these things while I was "patiently" waiting. GOOD LUCK!

Thank you very much for your reply, wish u the best. 🙂My stats actually didn't change. I did take an additional upper level science course, but I didn't retake the DAT or change my GPA (3.4/20AA for both cycles). I called some schools once they rejected me and most said not to worry about my stats and to increase my shadowing hours & apply early - so I did and added over 70 hours with two different dentists, re-wrote my personal statement, and applied early..like submitted within the first few days AADSAS opened (btw I think this is crucial for people with below average/average stats). I only received 1 interview last year, but it came in June, which was too late and didn't work out for various reasons. I have two interviews thus far at two great schools (IMO), and I think a lot of it has to do with where you apply - are they OOS friendly? do they focus on research? do they prefer more well-rounded applicants to your basic book worm? do they have unofficial GPA/DAT cut-offs? do they look for certain leadership qualities/community service/etc? I did more research into the schools this time around and really catered my application to what I felt the dental schools I was applying to are looking for.
