@hawkeye3211 me too please.
Sorry, but no. It is personal and private for me, hence the name personal statement. What I can say is that it is about overcoming great obstacles and what I gained in life experience from them. Can I read your PS?

These were professors/advisors and a close English major friend. I don't feel comfortable sharing it with a stranger.Oh. It sounded like you let a bunch of people read it since you said, "Everyone who read my PS told me it is the best they have seen..."

If you want I can, but I'm not sure what that will really do for you. If you've already submitted a PS this cycle, then me rating it will not change your outcome for this cycle, whether it be good or bad.I'll let you read mine so you can see how much better yours is.

I really just want to read your PS hahaha. You can't say something is great and then not let others see for themselves, unless it's your girlfriend in bed...
I sincerely think you should lay it off, lol. If he doesn't want you to read it, then don't push it.
And to @hawkeye3211 : You are very fortunate to have good writing skills, definitely invaluable. Adcoms have read close to thousands/tens of thousands of personal statements over the years. Overcoming obstacles may be impressive, yes, but unique? I wouldn't count on it.
Thanks! How so?
I second that for DMU and KCUMB. I am really interested in their programs.I want an ii to KCOM, DMU, KCUMB, and RVU so bad! 🙂

I felt like a 50% shot after interview was actually a pretty high rate....Seriously. "really interested" =I would go there in a heartbeat! I especially like how KCUMB accepts a high number of interviewees. I am disappointed that MU-COM only accepts 44% of people interviewed- it makes me so much more nervous!
Aww I know, that was sort of heartbreaking to hear that MUCOM accepts so few people... but maybe they also just over invite people that shouldnt have gone there? This might especially have been true for the first couple of years while they were still figuring their stuff out.Seriously. "really interested" =I would go there in a heartbeat! Nah some DO schools are at the 70-90% rate. Many basically only interview to give the final thumbs up and make sure you are normal, but essentially their decision was already made. Like I know UNECOM and KCUMB are that way. This means they screen harder pre-interview though...I felt like a 50% shot after interview was actually a pretty high rate....

But yea, I would definitely appreciate an invite from KCUMB or DMU. I am pretty hopeful that KCUMB gives me a shout because like I have decent stats for them and I know they tend to appreciate research more than many DO schools, which I have loads of research experience.
But who knows, the number 1 thing I am finding throughout this whole deal is that the application process is a complete crapshoot. I wish it werent, but it just appears to be that way.
Dang. What about KCOM and WVSOM? Now I'M worried too! hahaNah some DO schools are at the 70-90% rate. Quick question for people who got their interview LECOM:
Did you get your interview invite through email or mail? On my LECOM portal it says " The Admissions Committee has made a decision on your application. You will receive an official letter in the mail within 30 days." Did it say that for you too? If so, how long did it approximately take before you received the letter?
Sorry for throwing in too many questions...just a lil anxious!
I have no freaking clue what to expect from the MMI's.... Not particularly excited for that haha.... I mean I am pretty outgoing but there is still a certain nervousness over the unknown.I feel exactly the same about KCUMB. I think it fits me so well and I am just hoping I conveyed that extremely well in the secondary! But yes complete crapshoot- but also very exciting (so I tell myself to lower my anxiety, haha)! I will see you at MU-COM on 9/13! Getting ready for those MMIs!
Not a clue on those ones sorry... you will have to do some digging.Dang. What about KCOM and WVSOM? Now I'M worried too! haha
Got an email saying "congrats, you've been selected for an interview," my status says the same.
Sorry kid, dosen't sound like great news, but, on the bright side, there's no saying until you get that letter.

We used the same thing in the fire service in the past. They really are meant to better understand you. You will no matter what get questions that you can answer easily and ones that will cause you to be stressed. All I can say is practice practice practice. Find someone that can fire rapid questions at you about school, life, and your interests.Yup! Anyone with experience with MMI feel free to chime in with advice! I feel it is some-what scenario specific. If you get something you know a lot about it is easier to talk about than something you have no experience with🙁
I was reading some stuff from the 2012-2013 cycle and they said that they were really tame and the MMI interviewers were extremely nice and many offered compliments or advice. Then they said that their final interview was with the two deans. So there is a load of stress off.Yup! Anyone with experience with MMI feel free to chime in with advice! Even if I get a single acceptance, my any stress that I have felt over the past couple of years towards this whole process will be exponentially lower.
WHOOP WHOOP! time to make a pitbull/shakira playlist!NOVA IN THE HOUSE!

Way to go, the teamwork is much appreciated.^Just did a little cleaning, somehow we lost the instructions awhile back so I've included them again on the post above!
