Has anyone heard from the following programs?

University of Hawaii - Clinical
Iowa State - Counseling
Loma Linda - Clinical
University of Kentucky - Counseling

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

University of Kentucky held interviews for both the Counseling and School Psychology Ph.D programs on Feb. 2nd.

The master's and Ed.S will be held at a later date.

I had an awesome interview for UVa's clinical Ph.D. program yesterday (GS, not Curry). It was a panel format and literally went ALL day. I love the program and I'm really excited about it.

It was less formal than I expected-anyone else encountering this?

The U Virginia rejection was for the NON-curry one.

The Michigan rejection came in the mail today-- for the clinical phd program (check out the lovely new rejection thread, too!)

So I never got a letter from U MIchigan. However, I finally checked my Michigan friends site, and it said that a decision had been made and the department would contact me. Does anyone know what those two pieces of information together mean? Here are my hypotheses:
a) I was rejected and the letter was lost in the mail
b) I wasn't rejected in the initial round, but I was wait-listed, and then rejected, and the letter is now forthcoming
c) (least likely and most optimistic) I will be getting a call *any day now* 🙂 for a phone interview, and the "decision has been made" information just means that I *haven't* been rejected.

Ugh ... Any others with similar experiences? (Or has anyone actually heard something positive from U Michigan?)

Anyone going to U Oregon this weekend or Georgia State on 2/20? PM me if you want to say hey or have a secret handshake (or if you want any info about GSU / livin' in the ATL)

I had that in my first interview as well, which was a nice surprise. I also unfortunately have realized that just because a match looks good online it doesn't mean that it will be good when you get there. Oh well, what can you do on that one, but it does make me nervous for all the interviews that I have coming up. Maybe I just have my standards set to high on the match I am looking for, I don't know. I guess I will learn after this weekend's interviews!

I checked my status and I have the same message...I've been checking my mail more than ever and still nothing...I was thinking the same thing(s), but I really don't understand their process very well.

I got this email from Dr. Williams of UConn.

Hello Everyone,
We have been getting increasingly ominous weather reports. We want to insure the
safety of everyone so we are going to cancel the interview day (Feb. 14, 2007). The
person you listed as your preferred advisor will contact you to make alternative
interview arrangements. If you are flying in and can save the ticket, please do so
rather than trying to make it in. If we have missed you and you are already en
route, please travel safely and contact us as soon as you arrive.

I was invited to Columbia (clinical) for Feb. 22 or March 1. Then I got an email saying the Feb. 22nd interview has been cancelled.

I am also in this exact position. being the pessimist I am, I assumed my app made it through a first cut but not the second since I haven't heard anything or gotten a call. but maybe there's still hope for us? I hope so, here's to patience and holding out hope for good news. :horns:

I just called the department at Wayne State to see if I could get some information about interview invites and the status of the process, and I was told that everyone who has been invited for an interview has already been informed. The woman I spoke to was very certain that if I haven't heard by now, that I have not been invited for an interview... bummer.

Hey Psychey, congratulations! Was the invite from your POI?

Received a phone call inviting me to interview at Marshall.🙂

It's a non-clinical program, but has anyone applied / heard anything from Stanford's psych program? Do they even interview?

I'm wondering the same thing..no word yet here.

Last year's gradcafe results show someone getting an interview on 2/09 and two people getting rejected on 2/24. So they might do interviews..😕

Does anyone know if Widener and Yeshiva have finished sending out interview invites for their PsyD?

Thanks Sol- It was from my "POI" via email.

I have an interview for yeshiva psyd, i got it 2 weeks ago by email but it was not a mass email. so maybe they are still calling.

Does anyone know if Rutgers PsyD or Miami University have completed offering interviews? Also, are applicants only placed on waitlists after they have interviewed?
Thanks

has anyone else heard from Rutgers for Clinical Psyd? I know one person on the board got an interview, but I am wondering if they sent out all the invites yet.

I still haven't heard anything from Rutgers. I was wondering also if anyone else besides that one poster has gotten anything from them. I also keep checking the application status (religiously😉 ) and it still says no decision.

I keep up hope that an email is a day or two away!

Has anyone heard from BC? I know one person around here (Dr Maybe, I do believe) received an interview invite, but has anyone else heard anything? The supposed interview dates are approximately two weeks away, and I'm getting nervous...

Hi all. Has anyone applied to or heard anything about the following programs?

Eastern Michigan U
Idaho State U
Marshall U
U of Utah
U of Montana

I am awaiting invites or rejections from them and haven't seen anything about them on the forum. Any info would be helpful! Thanks.😕

I applied to Idaho State but haven't heard anything either.

I received an offer to interview and attend an open house at the Illinois Institute of Technology on the 2nd of March. It was a personal email sent from the director of clinical training. Chicago, Chicago- Here I come. I honestly don't think I've read about anyone else applying here, but thought I would share!

That's really awesome; congrats!!
You should post about it on the acceptance thread too; it would be great if we could keep that thread current.

congrats! when I went for my interview at The Chicago School of Pro. Psychology, I stayed with a friend who goes to ICO (Illinois College Of Optometry) and it was like right next to IIT. Bonus about that school is that its right under an L stop (public transportation). Good luck!

Antioch's PsyD program has started notifying interviewees. Interview days being offered are March 1, 2, and 3.

James Madison University (interviews are 2/23 and 2/26)

Got a mass e-mail on 2/7 from Seattle Pacific University's clinical psych PhD program saying that I was chosen for an interview on 3/5!

URI School Psych Phd interview invite via email, interview date 3/9... YAY

Hi guys, anyone hear anything from FDU? Seems like the interview date is coming up...Thanks!

Hi all,

I just got a phone invite to interview at Boston College for the PhD Counseling Psych program. My interview date is Tuesday, Feb. 27. I think they will be still be extending interviews throughout the week.

I've been wondering the same...When I called them they said they're meeting this week to ho they'll call - but it does seem to be cutting it rather close with the interview dates... (24th & 25th). Hopefully before the end of the week!

Congrats BC interviewers! I know a lot of people who have interviewed there. It's a group interview broken into 4 sessions with different faculty- clinical, research, social justice, and personal. Be prepared to define social justice and answer some unexpected questions during the personal interview.

Has anyone heard from UKansas-Adult Clinical or Western Michigan yet?

Thanks for the info!!! Very helpful.

Is anyone else just sick and tired of this process you pay a crap load of money for people to tell you that you are not worthy of their greatness -- I've had interviews and even offers so I'm not just bitter because I didn't get in anywhere I'm just ready for it all to be over and wondering if anyone else feels this way

Hi, this is the same poster as before, but I wanted to let people know that I got another email about the Rutgers PsyD interview, from a grad student, about a dinner the night before. This was definitely a mass mailing, went out to about fifty students.

Yep, I can't wait for the "we're sorry we can't accept you but we were impressed with you so we're soooo sure that you'll get in elsewhere". 🙄

I had put in my personal statement that I would be interested in working with Dr. Walsh and/or Dr. Liang. It was Dr. Walsh who called me.

Hopefully you will hear from them soon! A current doc student at BC who I know said that they don't seem to have their **** together this year and haven't been as on top of extending interviews in a timely fashion. Why do I feel like that's been the case for all of the schools I applied to?!

Good luck!

Now I'm getting more nervous about not getting an email...:scared: I am trying to convince myself that since few people on this board got an email, and I am assuming this board is an accurate representation of all applicants, that perhaps there will be more emails oging out soon!

I continue to delude myself...

I feel exactly the same as you. I am sick of checking my e-mails, phone messages, mail, etc. I have developed OCD through this process. 2 more months and then it is all over, I can't wait. Hopefully I will have full remission of my new ailment OCD. In the meantime I am going insane.😱 :scared:

Thanks for the info & the wishes of good luck! As an fyi, I'm interested in working with Dr. Kenny.

It is slightly unnerving that some of my schools with the earliest app due dates are some of the schools I'm still waiting to hear from. This whole process has completely ruined the joy I used to feel when I'd get a mid-day phonecall from my long-distance boyfriend. Now, when I have a missed call after work or class or such, I frantically check the list. & for about .21378 seconds, I think it must be from a school. & then my hope turns to utter irritation at whoever thought they'd be thoughtful and call to say hello.

Also, on a complete sidenote, I just wanted to say how happy I am that we've all been so supportive of each other. I was just browsing through the Pre-Med forums out of boredom, and they're a bit snarky over there.

yeah, i'm so nervous these days post-interview. I'm always scared to check the acceptance thread because i'm afraid someone got an acceptance into a school I applied to. thankfully, so far, it's only been the school i've been rejected to 😛

I am finding myself doing the same thing! What used to be cute little lunch time messages from my fiance are irritating prompts to enthusiastically check my voice mail in hopes of a contact from a grad school. But, it's always the same, a familiar voice wishing me a happy day. Blech!

Here's what I have so far:

Acceptance:
Univ. of Tulsa

Interview:
Univ. of Memphis (2/2)

Presumed Rejects:
Univ. of GA
GSU
UNC-Greensboro
Northern Illinois Univ.
Nebraska - Lincoln
Univ. Miss

Rejects:
Missouri-St. Louis
Virginia Consortium (only PsyD - all others Clinical PhD)

Unknown:
Idaho State Univ.
Univ. Montana (wouldn't take at this point, anyway)
St. Louis Univ.

Other:
I'm an "alternate" at Wyoming. Apparently they only allow each faculty to interview 3, and I came in fourth. Seems awfully arbitrary.

The process is hard. It's really exciting, but I am worn down, and everyone I know is tired of the constant updates. I just want to know where I'm going and be done with it!
