I just received an invite to interview at the U of Iowa (clinical) 3/3-3/5! It was an email.

anyone else going??

she didn't give info as to whether or not all the invites had been given out. but since it's 2 weeks from tomorrow, i'd assume that they're finishing up soon...

If my memory serves me right, last year I did not interview at Adelphi until March. That seems a little late but I believe that was when I interviewed. Hope thats helpful 🙂

Hey Psyched4life! you mentioned in an earlier post that you were accepted into one school last year. Was it Adelphi? Why did you choose not to go? Just wondering because the program looks great to me.

I got an email from my person of interest at Case Western on Monday telling me that he would not be able to invite me for an interview. So, I guess decisions have been made.
 
See, I told you it would be February! I interviewed there last year so PM me me if I can help.
 
I agree if the fit's not there, it just seems to not work out one way or the other. My first time through I applied purely on location, which was a pretty big mistake. Even though a lot of schools had decent matches, there wasn't necessarily a great fit with any of them. This time though, the fits are a lot stronger (some are the same school, just with a different professor), and so the results are there too.

I just received an invite from U of Florida (Clinical PhD) for March 9 and 10
 
Hi all,
After having been on the alternate list Tuesday (which I thought meant I was pretty much out of luck), I now have an interview at Georgia State. It's also on a different day (2/20). It seems there were enough people who could not make the other day (2/16), so they added one. I was notified via phone by the administrative assistant.

Anyway, I'm sort of in shock (the good kind). Any one else going to either GSU date?

I am sorry to hear that, though it is nice that he let you know. I still haven't heard anything so I guess I will keep hope alive.
 
Hi, for anyone else applying to Widener's clinical Psy.D. program, I wanted to report that I just spoke with someone at the Admissions office, who assured me that they are far from done reviewing applications and extending invitations. The woman I spoke with said there are about 50 (!!) more interview invites that they have not extended yet, and that they are still reading applications to figure out who those will be.

Is anyone applying to Northeastern's Counseling Psychology Masters program? Applications were due Dec. 15 and I got an e-mail Dec. 15 for an interview Feb. 7 in Boston. Is that weird? To get an invite day applications are due? This happen to anyone else?
 
Hi Nathalia. Unfortunately I do not have any info, and you are welcome here, but I just wanted to let you know you may have better luck at this forum... http://forums.studentdoctor.net/forumdisplay.php?f=207 as most of us are applying to doctoral programs. I am not saying this post is bad, just that you may want to post in both places because there aren't many masters applicants here...I don't think at least 🙂

Pace University has started their interview process for their Clinical Psy.D. program. I got a phone call from the admissions secretary today. I was offered a list of dates to choose from starting next week.

I have another interview on the 16th so I opted to attend the interviews at GSU on 2/20 rather than interview via phone. I think in-person interviews are better and I also would like a chance to see the campus and talk to some different people. So are you staying with a graduate student?
 
It is not a big deal...I didn't want to live in Cleveland anyway. I would definitely keep hope alive though at Case if I were you. This person emailed me personally because we have met several times at conferences and have talked through email and phone for the last couple years. That doesn't necessarily mean that all professors have made final decisions or phone calls for invites

Hey Psyched4life - PM me. I live in here in Atlanta and I can give you the scoop on the city. I also think it's very important to go to interviews and visit the places if you can. Congratulations!
 
has anyone heard from BU (for an invite) in the past few days? just desperately trying to figure out if there are any invites left or if the whole "by the end of this week" thing was just a line...
 
Why do rejection letters take so long to get to the point? I had to read half a page of meaningless drivel before the "we're sorry" stuff. Just start out "we don't want you" and be done with it already! 😀

I agree. But instead of "we don't want you", I'd like to see "we enjoyed receiving your application fee, but we don't want you" or something entertaining like that. :laugh: jk
 
i would like to see a HUGE stamp on a copy of my application in RED that says DENIED or REJECTED. that would be great. better yet, they should just say it on the envelope so i don't have to open it.

YES! I was just talking about this with my mom earlier! My general GRE scores are not impressive due to a car accident, and I definitely feel that I won't get looked at pretty much at all.

If only they met me and understood that I'm not an airhead, I just can't do multiple choice exams....


I second the idea of just saying rejected on the front of an empty envelope. Or better yet... Just email me with the title 'XXX University - Rejected'. Give it to me quick!

I'm with you - waiting to hear something definite from BU and UMASS-Boston is going to be the end of me. Although all of my schools have been mysteriously quiet this week...
 
Hey guys.
I was offered an interview from Yeshiva Psyd as well as Xavier. I know for Xavier, 215 applied and 60 were given interviews. Does anyone know stats on Yeshiva? How many people get offered interviews compared to the the total applicant pool and also how many are accepted?

I just found out yesterday about both and I have to fly out very soon, (Feb 16th for Xavier, and Feb 22nd for Yeshiva) I'm nervous! Any pointers? 🙂

I know someone who got an interview from BU last week- and I don't know anyone that heard anything this week. I am speculating that they are done, but who knows for sure!

This has been a very quiet week for me also, and it is definitely making me nervous!

Has anyone heard back from SUNY Buffalo that interviewed? I feel like they should be making offers soon...

Hey i interviewed at Buffalo and have not heard anything since. I didnt feel good about my interview so I am not really expecting an offer. Did you interview also?? Def let us know if you hear anything and i will do the same. The guy told me that they invite accepted people to visit in early march so i am guessing offers will go out in the coming weeks. Good Luck!!

Yes- I had the same experience- Phone interviews are really tough. How am I suppose to win them over with my killer smile? (haha) Seriously though, I like the program and the faculty a lot, and really am hoping to hear some good news!

They told me the same about March- and that I should expect to hear about an offer, if I get one, in about 2-3 weeks (it has been about 2 1/2 since the interview).

I will def. share if I get an offer (or if I don't)

Yeah its only been about a 1 1/2 weeks since mine so maybe they didnt start making decision until everyone was interviewed. I have been a wreck ever since though checking my phone just to see if they called and checking the mail to see if ive been rejected. Its funny that applying to psych programs is giving me an anxiety disorder!!:scared:

Hey i had seen earlier that people had interviews at SUNY-Binghamton. I just graduated from there in May 2006 (psych obviously) and was just wondering who you guys were interested in? I mean the psych department if pretty big but if i had any of them for class or anything i will let you know what i think of them!! (p.s. Binghamton the city is kinda ghetto.....but i LOVED my time spent at school there!)
 
Grad secretary at Central Michigan says that they will be contacting people on Tuesday Feb 6th for interviews.

I'm heading to the interviews at Rochester, which are on 2/17. I've known for a couple weeks now about it (had contacted the graduate secretary). But I just got an e-mail today from a current graduate student about housing/transport, etc. So perhaps other people found out today too? I'm not sure if you're asking if people have heard or confirming that other people are going? Either way, I might shoot you a PM later.
 
Does anyone know if Fordham is finished extending interview invites for Clinical Ph.D.?

Also, does anyone know if The George Washington University has started their interview process for Clinical Ph.D.?
