Hey there everyone! Figured I'd start this thread since I recently started preparing for the June 18th MCAT. For those of you who are taking the June 2nd MCAT, June 18th MCAT, or still considering one of those two dates, feel free to post here with any questions, comments, concerns, or support you have to offer!

Lol ask a stranger. I actually did that for someone once. I was at a concert at the park, and this guy came up to my friends and I and asked if I could read his LSAT scores. Apparently he had to wait 3 months!!! I read them and he did really well judging from his reaction. He was also heavily drunk so he probably didn't give a crap that he walked up to random people lol

3 months? That is cruel and unusual punishment. I've thought about getting up and starting the day off with mimosas so I am not constantly refreshing my score page. The month really hasn't bothered me until now!

Right?! I'm so glad I'm not pre-law. I'm having trouble sleeping due to the stress ugh. Yum mimosas sound really good right now. I live in the very hot Texas so i'm chronically thirsty. It was only 108 degrees yesterday, so that's cause for celebration. :claps:

#JuneMCATmatters... not sure how to keep busy anymore. I hadn't thought about the scores until I checked SDN which activated my neurotic premed side. At this point anything over 500 would feel nice.

Hmm, that is a good little wait. I guess I was so worried about submitting in case my scores weren't where I needed them and being a re-applicant is a disadvantage?

Yeah it is a good wait. Like other people have said, you can always just submit to one school to get verification started, which is what takes the longest. As far as the re-applicant stigma goes, I've heard arguments on both sides. I think it's definitely a disadvantage if you re-apply with an unimproved application.

I submitted mine on June 26th and they are processing June 22nd now... so I will be verified not too long after we get our scores back. I only added one school so I think it might work out IF I GET A DECENT SCORE ! ugh .... I might have my mom read me my score as well. Either that or I will get drunk before opening to ease the pain. lbvs

I submitted yesterday and I think they will receive my transcript maybe this upcoming Monday.
So do you guys count 3 weeks from the date you submitted or from the date they get the transcript?

If you guys could say a little prayer (or send good thoughts if you're not religious) that would be great. One of my close friends was injured yesterday in the attack in Nice, France. He broke his back and some ribs, but hopefully he will be okay. Puts all of my worries in perspective.

If you want a horror story, read some threads for fall 2014 I think. Most people ended up doing several points below their AAMC average, and that was with about 11 practice tests. We have no idea what ours could be, considering we only have 2 practice exams, and the sample is rather unreliable considering the CARS was the easiest thing ever. 3 more days!

I would like to get around a 508 but at this point anything over a 503, I would be happy with because that's the minimum for most school's that prescreen.

I am struggling too but I already submitted my primary application and I will be verified probably the beginning of next week so I have to push myself to write them. Right now I am struggling with Rosalind Franklin's crazy "Why Rosalind Franklin" 100 word prompt. Like 100 words, really? Come on. Lol

There is no way you will not get at least a 508. You got a 515 on the scored. You will def do awesome!!

Isn't a 503 around a 27/28? I'm worried about less than 508, since most schools have averages of around 31-32.
I don't know if I could take this test a third time...... My mom thinks I got a 510. I would be so happy.

You are too kind! I'm actually doubting myself in other sections more. Someone actually messaged me and told me that because I thought CARS was easy, I must have fallen into a bunch of traps. I normally do 129-130, so at first I wasn't concerned, but I felt this test was easier than the unscored, so I am concerned that I'm going to get like a 126 on this. Also everyone and their mother thought bio was extremely easy, whereas I thought it was average/scored like. There will probably be a harsh curve.
I think NS 1 for me was a fluke- because there is no way on Earth I will get a 515 haha If I get a 508 I will be getting my party on Tuesday night.

Someone messaged you that? What a complete a-hole. I would not have been nice if someone did the same to me, especially because they have no literal idea what your test looked like. I thought my CARS was straight forward, to the point, with 1-2 passages that I had doubted my answers on. We are in the same boat.

I agree ... that's pretty cruel. I felt like CARS was pretty straightforward to me too... so I guess the three of us are in the same boat. Lol. I usually do pretty average in CARS so who knows but they still shouldn't have said that.

I tend to avoid confrontation haha. I just ignored that person, although I should work on being more aggressive. Do you think we will be alright on CARS then? I was scrolling through the June 2nd results, and everyone that thought they did well on CARS ended up it being their worst section. Would you mind telling me your Scored? I got a 130 on CARS and there were 2 passages that tripped me up. This one had about 2 questions that were difficult. But here I am getting way overconfident and then i'll see 124 on my score report. :arghh:

Yeah, I believe that's what it converts to. I was worried about that too but then I just started adding more low-tier med schools to my list. Medical school is medical school and I also have a nice amount of state schools that I am applying to so hopefully they show me some love.

I know Rosalind Franklin is more low-tier, but do you have others that are? I agree, I don't give a crap if I go to Harvard or if I go to my state school. This isn't law or business where it's Wharton or bust.

From the lists I have seen floating around here for people with some less than stellar stats, I have seen these schools alot: Creighton, Rosalind, Rush, Loyola, UIC, Temple, Tulane, Meharry, Jefferson, George Washington, Georgetown, and Drexel.

I am also using MSAR to pick out schools based on my stats and definitely picking more schools that are community service centered versus research.

Oh gotcha. The problem with Drexel, GTown, and GW is that they are so low yield i'm trying to see if I should even send an app.
Are you AA? I think Meharry is a HBC.

Yeah, I am an URM so I will be applying to the HBCU's as well. Howard, Morehouse, and Meharry. But you definitely don't have to be an URM to apply to those schools just as long as you have an interest in underserved populations.

Do you already have a list together with some low-tier, mid-tier and reach schools?
