Official: Kentucky Applicants Unite!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Dammit!!!! I should have been checking the premed forums more often!

I got into UL this year (suicide). I started to apply to UK, but I just don't like Lex. Fun to visit, but I hate the messed up traffic. I get psychopathic in bad traffic, plus my Gf lives here.

Anyway, I know quite a few people at UofL. If there are still any fence-riders who have questions, I could probably put you in touch with someone.

One note about the unit labs: they're just another way to study. You can work at the library, in small groups, or even at somebody's home if you want.

I really like a lot of the initiatives they're taking at UL right now. The simulated patient labs are being expanded, and student time in the labs is constantly being increased. The standardized patient lab is top notch. Lectures are recorded in mp3 format and made available for download. The pda program seems to be improving, although I'll learn more about that next year as my friends hit their clinical rotations.

Ya 🙂 call em up and tell them I need an interview 😀 I know, I know, not the type of fence sitter you were refering to...but I'll use any advantage I can 😀

I am applying to both uk and uofl as an out of state student. I completed my uk app on the 21st and am hoping to hear about an interview soon. I sent in my uofl app on monday also. A lot of the posts about uofl have made me wonder if it would be a good choice considering it is 35g out of state and seems to have some questionable addmission standards. I am open to hearing more about both school and look forward to interviewing.

Most of what you hear are lies and rumors. Politics plays a huge role in admissions no matter where you go but you should not worry at U of L or at UK. They are both solid schools with good reputations. In reference to a previous post, I wonder if the interviewers at Johns Hopkins knew where the AbioCor Implantable Replacement Heart surgery occurred. I wonder if they know where you can find world-renowned hand surgery either...
