they're pretty much the high school bullies of of medicine.

they think they're all that, push other people around, and pretty much get whatever they want their whole life, until eventually they're left alone, empty, and disappointed. and impotent.

why bother with expensive orthopods when you can go to a perfectly good ER and get treated and leave without ever paying a bill, forcing everyone else's costs to go up?

actually yesterday evening my mom and dad took me out to dinner and my mom brought me a whole container of hers. 😀

as for hardcasting, that is going the way of the dodo now thanks to ultra-modern limb amputation with hacksaws.

That means I have a better chance at becoming President than those orthopods. I'm also more likely to get a corporate promotion, be voted homecoming king, and be dubbed "tall, dark, and handsome."

I haven't seen anything of that nature. Guess I just figured we'd all keep posting in here, since everyone from MCW who posts on SDN visits all three of the current class threads. If you're looking for answers to questions, there are two 3rd years (Xandie and Don) who slum it up pretty often and post on here.

I'm pissed that I got the "nerve reattachment" question wrong on the Path test today. For some reason I decided to multiply 250 by 5 instead of divide, and I never double-checked the units. What a waste of a gimme question!

And I take offense at the insinuation that I'm a backup dancer to Splat. I'm at least good enough to sing backup vocals.

Defintely not worse than block 2, but could definitely have gone better for me. Oh well, you reap what you sow...😳

Suprisingly, I did way better on the histology/gross pathology photo questions than I thought I was going to. Considering I never once went to or even looked at a lab, that's a bonus.
 
Lowest path grade for me so far, and this comes after I finished up the CNS questions in the Robbins Review book at about a 90% clip (I'm usually lucky to hit 70% on those questions).

I knew the clinical stuff pretty damn well. Oh well, I guess I know where my autopsy bonus points are going to have to go.

Maybe I should just start gathering instructors' addresses right now so I can be sure to send them my board score when I receive it. Then I'll bill them for my copy of Goljan Rapid Review, since they failed to teach any of the high yield stuff found therein.

since when does the path department teach? It's more, speak down to us for 50-75min at a time, then expect us to read their minds.

I did like Dr. Ho though. He's so nice. He came up to me during the test and was like "How are you doing, Ashree? Ok?"

I can't agree with this more. I think the boards are going to test completely different stuff than what we were tested on today.

I got one wrong because I confused myself and changed my answer just before submitting. Others I feel like I got wrong because either:

a. I didn't try hard enough
b. The question confused me
c. I didn't like the answer choices
d. The answer to #15 should be E
e. The questions were simply not what I was expecting and harder than previous years' exams.
 
I'm tired and cranky and sick of studying. Yet I can't remember anything they've taught us in psych (hopefully common sense will pull through). I still need to write up my clinical H&P deal from last Tuesday cuz I have to be there again tomorrow at 11am.

Then I have to cram in as much pharm as possible Tuesday, Wed, and Thurs because I'm going to in Madison from Friday morning til Sunday afternoon.

And I have volleyball at 8.

Did I mention I'm tired? and cranky?

Good. She leaves soon for a week in Florida, which means I'll be in full bachelor mode. This essentially means I'll be eating takeout and playing xbox for a week.👍
 
So I just learned what the word "lund" means in Hindi from a thread in the Lounge. (If you don't know, please edjumacate yourself.) I was just looking at next week's schedule and noticed we have the "female exam" in CER on Tuesday. The lecurer's name? Lund. :laugh:

Just wanted to be the first here at MCW to declare themselves a sexpert before tomorrow's exam. Sorry to beat you all to the punch folks, but I didn't buy the Adam Carolla and Dr. Drew LoveLine book in high school for nothing.

I dunno...Jenny got a book called "Hot Sex and How to do it" as a gift at her bachelorette party. There wasn't anything in that book that I already didn't know (but that was probably mostly because the book sucked ass and didn't describe anything I would call "hot sex.")
 
That's nothing. When I was 19, my roommate and I hosted one of those sex toy parties. You know, like tupperware parties, but with a different kind of item being sold.

They always forget about the butler sex robots with Fran Drescher's voice in those "Hot Sex" books. And don't even get me started on those Cosmo articles. Whip cream and strawberries, sexy? Psssssh...try refried beans and jello puddin' pops, ya prudes.

That was her *other* bachelorette party. 😀 From the stories I heard, I was very surprised at how non-prudish the girls were during the event...you'd think you get that many chicks together at once and they'll all be concerned about looking like a slut, but no.
