M2s... what is with all your classmates coming in and harassing my poor VA patients? Every day, I get someone's preceptor oming by the room and saying "I need a good patient for some sophomores." Forget good patients... you can have my cranky guy who hates everyone but me. I have to give him his meds and shots, even. Go examine him... grrr.

I'm cranky because my team went home since we're post-call but I have to stay because I have lecture at 3. I'd rather be at home sleeping. 🙁

Just a quick note to anyone who intends on going into anesthesiology. Do NOT pimp med students on the way to the OR about the drugs they're about to receive in surgery, even if they are in pharm. (Vecuronium, fentanyl, propofol, or even drugs they're not going to get because they're not anxious -- midazolam). That is all. I heart percocet.
 
Succinyl Coa is a mild muscle relaxant. That is all I know.

Hmmm, were you talking to the lady that I took an H&P from yesterday in CER? Because that was pretty much her chief complaint, based on how much she bitched about doctors to me.

I swear that if I have to hear too many patients bitch about physicians like that I am just going to go off on them with a Dr. Cox from Scrubs-like rant about how annoying interacting with certain types of patients can be. That should shut them up, or at least make them find another doctor to annoy.

On my way from my room to surgery, some patient or patient's family was complaining about doctors. My transporter was like "I should've told him you were studying to be a doctor, just to make him shut up."
 
I've always wondered why people think doctors are liars and addicts and asses. Maybe they have us confused with lawyers...

Agent Splat hears Melissa Ethridge (had to google it, I don't listen to her) when Donny and Xandie look at eachother. I hear the Fray or that Dawson's Creek song, "i don't wanna wait for our lives to be over". That song actually reminds me of souhtpark.
 
Man, I just found out that one of my co-worker's sons, who also worked for us for a bit, died of meningitis at age 20. We all knew his dad fairly well. He hadn't been feeling well, and he went into the ER yesterday, and had an MRI done. I'm not sure if they could tell what was wrong or not, but he ended up going home and died in his sleep last night. Really shy guy, wouldn't hurt a fly. His parents must be in absolute shock right now. 🙁

I love this. I had a mutual/trust fund thing set up that was used to pay my undergrad tuition each year. It was finally closed last year out as the last bit of it was taken out, which was maybe $1,000. What does the IRS do? Well, those wonderful a-holes apply the entire net value of money taken out from the fund over the years and tax me on THAT this year. PLUS it looks like I have (which I don't) close to 50,000 to my name because of that fund....sure...sure. Even better, this was looked at by a CPA and pretty much, yep...that's it. I'm getting taxed on it even though the majority of that money hasn't been around for awhile. Oh, and of course now I don't get any refund and have to pay out.

So thanks to apparently having money that I actually don't, my EFC per FAFSA is like $22500. :laugh: I've never had that much money in my life. Financial aid better still dish out this year.
 
My first day off this month and I couldn't sleep in. Fudgesickles.
