I was trying to look for a thread where people can post interview invites and decided to create one myself! Please write the school name, date of interview invite and date of the interview! Good luck everyone ;)

No invites for me yet (511, 3.65 both, military, medical provider personally, research in NIH). Should I start worrying???

Not at all. Start worrying if you don't have an invite by Thanksgiving.

There's an Interview Tracker on Reddit - the creator has given permission to share it here in order to have more data:

Dang the average stats on the II tracker right now are 3.85/518 :dead:

I've got no interviews yet :( my stats are a 3.9/512. These high MCAT scores are freaking me out a bit. I'm hoping that its a skewed sample size.

It is very skewed. The average person on Reddit and SDN is closer to one SD to the right of the bell curve than the median.

That said, early interviews are going to go to people with high stats and exceptional apps. If you have 0 interviews by thanksgiving then you need to start planning for a potential second application cycle.

When I submitted my app I said in the CO2023 thread that we’re in the marathon now and I wasn’t kidding ;)

thank you... this is very comforting. I am in the same boat - medium stats, no IIs yet. No rejections either though, except one hold (GW). So, I guess, I will try to be optimistic.

almost 3 weeks later and the average stats are still 3.81/518, reporting bias is so real

dodo, You are a rockstar with your 8 II already and only age 19! Now tell me, where do you see the averages listed?

Lol thank god for Texas. Also sorry I didn’t clarify, those are the averages on the interview invite tracker on reddit!

Yes, I get that it's from the reddit interview tracker, but where do you see the averages?

If you highlight the entire column of MCATs, or GPAs, itll show you in the bottom right corner the total, average, min, max, etc

This thread seems relevant enough to ask this question, so I will ask it here.
What is the best way to practice handshake grip/strength? I'm under the assumption that there is handshaking in interviews. I have been told in the past I need a stronger handshake so I'm just looking for ways to improve on that.

Honestly, just find people to shake hands with haha. Ask friends, family, etc. all with different grips/strengths to get comfortable with what works best

Last year when I applied, I received my first II in mid November, so to have 4 II's at this point is beyond my most optimistic expectations. My interviews so far are:

University of Vermont - received late July
U of A Phoenix - received late July
Tulane - received early August
University of Massachusetts - received mid August

As a re-applicant, I won't feel secure until I have an acceptance in hand, but I am remaining cautiously optimistic.

That’s amazing! Mind if I ask how you worked on improving your app during your gap year?

Sure! I did a couple of things:
- I applied day 1 and to a broad spectrum of schools
- Rewrote my primary and secondaries and really focused on articulating my experiences, motivations, and passions
- Added several hundred clinical volunteering hours (although I think I was already good in this department) and started a very "prestigious" and unique research experience for my gap year

I think the first two are what really gave me an edge this year.

you seem to having a lot of luck with state schools. can i ask what your state of resident is?

i mean to quote Pharaoh95 ... u vermont, u mass, u arizona, u maryland ...

If you hit “reply” on a post it’ll automatically quote it. It’s pretty difficult to tell who you’re responding to, particularly when the post you’re talking about is 5+ posts up.

2 II. I’m an NY resident: cGPA 3.67 strong upward trend, sGPA 3.74, MCAT 514. Early August II from SUNY Upstate, interview is September 12th. Got an II two days ago from SUNY Stony Brook, haven’t scheduled it yet. Needless to say I am now incredibly optimistic and excited. I am going to do a lot of “interview research”, but I’m confident I can do well.

what are the chances for 3.9, 3.8, 510?
There have been interviews for people in Texas with lesser or similar scores as reported in this tracker. Actual stats is more encouraging than your opinion.
