***Official Not Accepted Anywhere on Dec. 1st Thread***

So I know the thread title is a little depressing, but whatever, I think its kinda funny, grabs your attention, and fits in with the rest of the posts going on today.😀

Anyway, like many of us have noticed in the past, these forums (and predents) tend to be skewed towards the more proactive, hard-working people who are obviously getting more acceptances...this makes it seem like EVERYONE but you is getting good news Dec. 1st, but that definitely isn't the case. I know there are other people on here checking posts and whatnot and wishing they had an acceptance too, and are too afraid to post. I personally didn't get in anywhere today, and I know how much waitlist/rejection/not hearing anything sucks. I would love to be able to vent/complain/be depressed/talk it over or listen to anyone in the same position, or just to know that you people are out there.

The cycle is FARRR from over- we just need to keep telling ourselves that...December 1st is only the beginning- things can always change for the better!

I'm sorry to hear that...are there other schools you applied to that you haven't heard from yet? Most schools still hold some spring interviews...

I tried calling, but both schools kind of blew me off and told me to wait to hear from them. I am guessing snail mail is on its way.

Reading these posts breaks my heart. I wish you all the best and I hope that your hard work pays off. It's not over until Fall semester starts. Read back a year to March-April posts and hopefully it will make you feel better. People get accepted throughout the year, it could be you. Hang in there and don't let this get you down.

just hang in there everyone. Wait for some snail mail to come in. There's also Jan. 15 for second round of interviews so don't worry. You guys all worked hard and have great stats. Hopefully, a school can appreciate that. At the very least, I'll try my best to make a decision so I dont hold up any seats for anyone. Good luck and let me know if I can help with anything.

Definitely not, this was my third cycle and I finally got into BU.....

I have to say though....most of you guys have some darn good stats and so I would hope that you do get in somewhere

Im not applying this cycle, but look at the bright side from reading through the threads alot of people who got accepted were accepted to multiple schools and they can only go to one, which means more seats for everyone else to have. Good luck everyone

I have not heard anything from schools yet. No interviews, rejections...nothing. Grrrr

Whoa, finally a thread for me. Third time is apparently NOT the charm. 5 pre-Dec interviews, 2 more to come. 15 schools total. Don't know what to say now. Pretty ridiculous, now i know what the coyote feels like when he can never catch that roadrunner and falls off a cliff everytime.

This sucks... plus I feel like I am letting not only myself but my family down....... I feel awful... sighhhh 🙁

I applied to Buffalo early on, got an interview, and haven't heard anything
I recently applied to Maryland and UoP last month and no interview invites or anything yet
I think it's too early to call and nag them for status

Hey man I feel sorta the same way. Don't worry though, there is still a lot of time left in this cycle, its not even close to being over yet. You still have a couple months to land interviews and get accepted. Don't throw in the towel yet, its way too early.

I was first reading the acceptance threads and tears began to fill my eyes. Just like many of you I have worked really hard ( overal GPA: 4.0 science: 3.9 (DAT 17/22/20)) and it seems like all of that doesn't matter...... anywayz I agree all of us should remain hopeful and it will sort itself out... keep on trying and hold your heads up high....

Thanks CalDent, I am keeping my fingers crossed for all of us just the thought of applying next year and going through this whole process again is killing me though. but you are right, there is still hope .....

I've got similar stats to yours...3.1 sGPA, 3.0 oGPA, 21's across the board for the DAT (except RC which was 26). This is my 2nd time applying (two years ago I got waitlisted, but no acceptances)

I applied to MD, Tufts, BU, UPenn, VCU...hoping one of them pans out. Granted, I submitted Oct 1, so I was late in getting things in...no interviews yet; 'Under Review' at all except Penn which sent me a letter stating I'd be 'Under review'.

Fingers crossed for us both and best of luck to all. Never, NEVER give up hope. You fall today, you get up. You fall again tomorrow, you get up again tomorrow. You fall a third day...well...your shoelaces are obviously tied together. But you still get up!!

It is December 1st, it is still way toooo early in the game. I remember last year, a lot of people got accepted during the cycle.

Always keep positive though in mind. It will happen😀

Ugh, it really doesn't make me feel better that of the 8 of my friends at my undergrad who applied to dental school, I am the ONLY ONE who was not accepted anywhere today...and I definitely do not have the lowest stats by a long shot. 🙁
