The whole thing came as a shock to me. In fact, now I'm wondering if it's a mistake. I'm going to call later this morning to find out and maybe set up an appointment. To answer your questions (and this is the shocking part): no, I'm not a PA resident; and no, I haven't even submitted their secondary or paid the fee, but my school mailed my recommendations a week ago.

I dont know about this year, but last year Pitt sent early interview invitations to people who they judged were "highly qualified" before they received the secondary and other materials.

I know there were several SDNers who got these last year (i was one of them)

I made an interview appointment today. Pitt starts interviewing on 9/9 and they do interviews on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. They said the day lasts from 8:45 to 5:00.

As far as being "highly qualified," I don't know. My basic stats are on my profile, but I can tell you more if you're interested.

um, yeah, I would have to say that a 3.8 and 36 MCAT would make you "highly qualified". Not that you did this, but it cracks me up on here when people with a 35+ on the MCAT and high GPA's talk about how they have "average" stats.

You got an interview at jefferson? Thats great. Can I ask you a question though? you wouldnt happen to be taking the August 2002 MCAT right? Cuz I am and I just want to know if they will interview me based on my score from last year or of they will wanna wait till OCt?

I don't remember when it was verified, but my AMCAS app was transmitted to Pitt on 7/17/2002.

No I am not taking the August MCAT. My guess is that they'll wait until they get your scores from August until they interview you...that's what most schools do. They pretty much put you on hold until they get your scores, unless your other stats are really awesome or if you've taken the mcat before and did decent. Good luck! 🙂

Good luck on ur interview. I am just so nervous about having to wait till OCt!! This process requires much patience! It's just that this is my second time applying and I just have to get in this year. I cant wait to take the MCAT and rock it this August. 2 more weeks left. wish me luck, and good luck to you!

You guys might want to add dates for when this list gets longer...just a suggestion 😉..anmd also the number of interviews offered to SDNers before the dates

I'll add them, but you can remove them if you don't like it.

So I guess just add the date you RECEIVED the interview to give people an idea of when the invitations were sent out. 🙂...then change the number next to the school to add your interview.
