I'm from a suburb right outside of Philadelphia.

Anybody like beer? I need to find a good beer drinking buddy.
Well back to studying since its finals time for us, and man. good luck you guys, next year.![]()
The best place I've found to drink Beer sofar has been at the General Lafayette Inn. Its only two miles away from Summit Park, and it has some GOOD microbrewes. Then i've found another good place down in Old City. Though the beer just isnt the same as it was in back in Colorado 🙁
The place you were trying to refer to earlier was Manayunk. it is a fun place to live though I am up the hill in Roxbourough.

Yeah colorado microbrews are some of the best. I will be missing my micros... but good thing i brew my own. =] yummie fat tire clone
Your taste in beer is quite discouraging.Personally I thought that it should be called FLAT tire because it tasted like rubber with a sort of flat taste to it. Wisconsin micro brews is where its at.
hmm you like 1554? Honestly, there is a place called rock bottom brewery in colorado (dunno if its in other states) and their octoberfrest and Reds are absolutely amazing. Amazing. Wow. Deschutes is good, hmm i cant think of others. But fat tire is great.
My favs. are reds, porters, stouts.
Ok I'll give Fat Tire another chance if you bring it next fall, but you'll have to buy.
ahhah ill bring the table n cups n a ping pong ball.....

Hey since we are facebook friends now.... its official.... we will have to be some BP partners.
Anyone play soccer, volleyball, softball, etc (or any other intramural sports).
I think/hope grad students can play intramural sports.
Beer pong eh. I will have try outs for you all.... we will form an elite team that will never be beaten. If you got skillz lets join up.
You win some and loose some, oh wait i always win =] Just kidding
Good luck taking on my class, we've assembled quite a beer pong team. we would go through a keg a night (friday and satuday) playing beer pong. Its a good time. I would have to go with a good Stout for beer.
What year are you. We may have to form teams based on year and have a challenge. I better start practicing.

I live in a high rise apartment complex right in front of the art museum called Parktowne Place. It's right in/around the Fairmount Park area, and it is awesome. The walk to the subway is about 15 minutes, but there is a free bus that comes every half hour right to the building you live in (there are four) that takes you to down market street to city hall where you can just jump on the subway. If anybody is interested, you can talk to me or check it out at

Now I'm not a rep for this place or whatever, but if anybody DID decide to live there....we could instantly become friends by letting them know I referred you so that I get free rent for a month. In return you get an awesome place to live (the location, price, proximity to stores like Whole Foods, Trader Joes, etc., and amenities that the place gives you that you can check out on the website) and I'll show you where you can score cheap crack around the city.
Also, I'm not advertising this place as the Elysium fields either - I like to think I know a good amount about center city and surrounding broad street locations too....so if you're looking at someplace and want an objective opinion, i may be able to help you out
Didn't some say crack? My wife and I are planning on living somewhere in the Manayunk or Roxborough area.
Ok, nevermind I found the prices. Any other suggestions?
Yeah I forgot to mention I live with 5 other people, so price-wise for me its not as bad as somebody with dependents....Roxborough and Manayunk are awesome, but I'd be curious as to how long it takes to get to the d-school in the morning traffic. Did they tell you that?
One of the 1st year temple students said that a lot of people live in summit park...anyone know anything about that?
Off topic but is the deadline for the first $750 Jan. 15?
Does anyone know if there are Dental students that live at The Glen at Lafayette Hill? Lafayette Hill is about 8 min. outside of Roxborough.

I actually checked that one out. Nice place, about 20-25 minute right to school. Very expensive though (about 1600-2000/month).
You know what you'd probably be better off doing? You can get that list from Brian if you don't already have it of the current students contact information. Get at some of the juniors and seniors, who (overly generalized assumption coming up) probably are more in your situation of being either married or having kids. They'll also know where a ton of other people are living.
In other words... stop bothering us with your stupid questions
Thats a good idea, thanks Sch81. 😀
Haha no dude not at all - I just (heres another wild generalization) bet that most of the predents on here aren't authorities on the best places to support a family. I am, of course, an authority on everything else. 😎

15 minutes when I drive, 20 when my friend drives. Henry has no rats SuperFinger45. 👍
Your a rat. How do you explain this?
