my second deposit is in, aah this is getting to be more of a reality!

hi
i never got a letter regarding the second deposit.

do i just send $500 check before may 1st?

Call up Corky. Along with the $500, there is a couple of papers you need to send back (acceptance form that is similar to the first one, a housing survey and whether you are left/right handed for the SIM labs). They also had the calendars for our year so that is helpful if you want to start booking tickets 🙂

I just dropped a Dean's scholarship, I think, but it may take a few days to process, since my HPSP documents are on the way there.

I haven't dropped my seat yet, but that is definitely a possibility.

G'luck to everyone else IF they reassign my scholarship!

what do you mean you might still drop your seat? I thought you were not allowed to hold multiple deposits after may 1?

It's a weird situation, but I was dropped from UoP's active roster list (And put first on their waitlist for like two weeks) since I didnt give them any deposit for my seat and they were just holding it for me without a deposit since I told them I was waiting on the military HPSP. I just recently was able to sign my HPSP documents. I think you have two weeks to decide between schools after May 1st once they are both reported by AADSAS. mine was just reported last week

Even with Dean's scholarship it makes more sense monetarily to do the military with UoP, since I can go to school and be done with my military in 6 years total with 210K of military salary in the bank. 😎 I would have to make 450K + in my first two years after U Penn (240K debt from U Penn and 210K disposable income) to be even with going to UoP

I dont know if I believe Penn is a better school than UoP... it might be but the students definitely are on the same level or higher at UoP:idea:

I think you're making the right choice. It seems like no one west of Chicago knows that Penn is an Ivy. Everyone I speak to on the West Coast refers to Penn as Upenn State.
