everyone with questions about which schools to apply to post here...that way any redundant questions will be answered!! 👍

I am copying some of this from another thread.

I am a reapplicant who wasted his first shot by submitting everything right at the deadlines. My stats are as follows: 3.6ish GPA, 3.45 BPCM, 33R on MCAT. I have 2 years of lab experience, worked for two years as a social service worker in a group home for mentally ill/mentally ******ed adults, volunteer at an emergency dept., and am setting up some doctor shadowing experiences (although they will probably sum to less than 40 hours total by application time).

I am interested in finding a school in the midwest as well. I am a MN resident, so I'll of course be applying to the U of MN and U of MN-Duluth, but I am having a hard time finding other midwest schools that accept out-of-staters. Right now my list is as follows: Medical College of Wisconsin, Creighton, Univ. of Iowa, University of South Dakota. My options in Chicago are pretty much restricted to more suburban outlying areas (at my fiance's strong request) but I don't know enough about the Chicago area to pick any schools there at this point.

Wow...longwinded explanation. Any suggestions?

You can try Finch (thats on the outskirts of Chicago).
Other than that, schools that take out of state students, but not necessarily on the outskirts of Chicago, are Loyola, Rush and UIC. UIC having multiple campuses so you can choose one away from Chicago.

Here's a question I've been wondering about as I pick schools: which schools offer the juiciest non-need based scholarships? obviously, i know these merit scholarships are ridiculously hard to get, but still, it's something to consider, especially if you're on the fence about a particular school. here's my current list of schools offering merit scholarships (from what i've gathered):

mayo, upitt, einstein, ucsd, umich, duke, wash u, u maryland...
