Ofirmev for infants ?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Do you give ofirmev IV for less than 2 year old ?
Pediatric Use: The effectiveness of OFIRMEV for the treatment of
acute pain and fever has not been studied in pediatric patients
less than 2 years of age. The safety and effectiveness of
OFIRMEV in pediatric patients older than 2 years is supported by
evidence from adequate and well controlled studies in adults with
additional safety and pharmacokinetic data for this age group.

I don't see why one wouldn't, as long as it's the right dose. I don't do pedi cases, I am just curious.
Ofirmev site dose recommendations > 2 years . However it doesnt say it's contraindicated, it says that efficacy is not tested .

I corrected my post after I noticed that.

Interestingly their studies have included even neonates.

What is the basis of this dosing?

Rough estimate of the timeline for hepatic maturity over the first year of life. I use similar dosing for PO formulations. Haven't given PR in 2 years of doing primarily peds.
