I know that to say that this is a crazy wait is the understatement of the year! I'm supposed to hear back about 2 definite acceptances/rejections and 2 possible interviews by the end of this week. This could either make it the best Birthday and Christmas week EVER....or....well.... you know!

At least no one has heard since their meeting today....I keep trying to remind myself of what ellieG said before...No new is good news...no news is good news.....😕
 
The only reason I mentioned it was because there was some weirdness last year when some people noticed their portal status had those new fees listed before they got their acceptance call. Again, not sure if this is applicable to this year but since I was stalking last year's thread anyway... 🙄

Hmmm...That's interesting. I hadn't considered what might have happened if I was in control of a motor vehicle when I got my call. That could have had disastrous results. Glad it didn't and congrats again! Celebrate! I know you were pretty freaked but now you can relax a little and let it sink it.
 
CONGRATS, penny! This cycle has been such a roller coaster ride for you, I know. So glad that it ended exactly how you wanted it to.

For what it's worth, I just checked my status on the portal and I'm still listed as "In Review." You really can't go by what it says to know your official status...unless I imagined the entire thing and wasn't actually accepted and need to be put on some serious anti-psychotic drugs because I hallucinated the whole thing!!

Hey Squibby - Thanks a bunch. Gotta be honest - it was hell in a handbasket. But, it's over now and there isn't much I can do about it except hope that I did well enough to keep my B. Cumulative finals worth 40% of one's grade are certainly not my cup of tea...

On a lighter note, great news Penny!!! I'll be waiting to hear more good news tomorrow from the rest of you. 😀

ohio thread stalker leaving now...you guys seem like such a great bunch it makes me wish I'd applied to OSU :laugh:. And I love the pants, squibby. I have my fingers crossed for you guys. Apparently the reason I got the call so soon was because the head of my Masters program wanted to be the one to call me... and he was leaving to be out of the country soon. I hope I get to see you all this fall!

This is going to be a feat- I haven't told anyone where i work that I'm even thinking of going to vet school. Gotta keep this secret for a little while still..... so difficult!

Hope you all get the same amazing Christmas present that I did!

I DID IT!!!! 😀😀😀

I came in from feeding my horses and checked my email and there was a message from student affairs, which is the same place we got our invites from. I was SOOO scared because I wasn't expecting to get the acceptance through email but I DID and I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! You guys I'm going to vet school!!!!!

Thank you so much for your support! I don't know whether to laugh or cry. I'm so relieved and happy and ecstatic all at the same time. This process has been so ridiculous that to have it finally all come together is such a blessing.

This thread is so hard to keep up with! I am so glad they were able to meet and start giving everyone such good news before the holidays! My family is extremely thankful for this as well.

There were so many things that I really liked about Ohio, so I am really going to have to do some thinking about where I will go next year. I'm not one of the super cool kids (ahem, LSD), but I feel like I could really fit in in Ohio and love some of the changes they are making.
 
Geez! I didn't check SDN for like 2 hours and everyone got in! Congrats all around!!!!!!!!! This is so exciting!!!! Boy, I'm not really believing the "no news is good news" bit. If rejections aren't sent out until after xmas, than technically no news at this point means it is more likely a rejection. This is getting depressing.

Dude, I was so bummed out. But, just like my portal login email that I never got I didn't get my acceptance one either. Go figure. I think that right now my excitement is only offsetting that depression I was sinking into this morning.

EllieG, here's to throwing an Ugly Christmas Sweater party together next winter (that is if Davis doesn't want me) !!

Squibbyyyyyyy!!!!! =D =D =D!!!!

We are totally throwing a party next winter, and even if Davis does want you (which OF COURSE they will!) I think you should flip them the bird and come roll with us cool kids in Ohio ;-)

So after the excitement calmed down a little...I started getting that nagging "what if they made a mistake?" feeling...lol I guess I'll never be totally relaxed about this. I can't wait until I get the snail mail letter and can send in my deposit so I know it's the real deal!!
