So much commotion, and now our thread has died. Shedding a little tear....

Wow, I was looking at housing in Ohio and it is so sooooo cheap!!! I live around San Francisco and homes are about 5x as expensive and twice as small. I may as well buy myself a house if I decide to go to OSU and rent out the rooms.
Alright, so we've got Squibby and EllieG running around with their flies down, and I went out to the parking lot after my interview and stripped to my underwear so I could wear something more comfy for the tour. That means we've potentially got at least 3 exhibitionists in the class of 2015. Sounds like a rockin group to me! 😛

EllieG are those one-piece PJs with feet!? I'm so jealous. I asked for some for xmas from LL Bean but doubt I will get them. And yes, that would be quite a show if your fly was down in those.
LD: Why did you wait until the parking lot? At least in the lobby it wouldn't have been so chilly. 😉
Aside from my fly, the thing I'm more embarrassed about my interview day was when I drove EllieG and myself half way to the bookstore before I realized the parking brake in my friend's car was still on. I thought it was her 4WD that felt funny. I'm surprised you didn't bring this up EllieG.
Ehkehfemal, I triple dog dare you to show up at an interview with poppy seeds in your teeth!

Ah yes, but then there would have been no musical accompaniment. One must have appropriate music for a complete stripdown.
Of course! I'm thinking "Feelin' Love" by Paula Cole on the City of Angels soundtrack.

Sure that may be a good one for someone who could do a sexy pole dance, but when I dance, people try to shove a wallet between my teeth. 😳
Can I just say it's an amazing feeling to finally be able to answer the yearly holiday question from my extended family of "when do you start vet school?" withthe answer of "next fall!"
:-D

Nobody likes my footie pajama party idea? 🙁
Is the scholarship application that $10,000 amount for OOS students they were talking about in the financial aid discussion? Or is it something unrelated?
BTW, some of the questions are confusing, like they are assuming you're already attending (What was your last reported GPA in vet school, have you taken out loans to cover costs, etc.)... do we leave those blank or what?
Fill this form out regardless! Pretty sure out of state students are given this 10,000 scholarship automatically even without this form....but with this form you are considered for additional scholarships...if you will be a first year then fill in your undergrad information for questions such as GPA (and if you plan on taking out loans to cover costs then answer 'yes')...the more you fill out, the more scholarships they can consider you for!

You guys are a great group; and I'm sorry that I didn't get the chance to meet any of you during this journey. Got get 'em!!!!Thought I would pop by one last time to let you all know that I've been rejected but wish you all the best of luck at OSU this coming fall. You guys are a great group; and I'm sorry that I didn't get the chance to meet any of you during this journey. Got get 'em!!!!
Oh good, they waited until after Christmas to reject me. 🙄
So much for my IS! Too bad, you guys are a super fun bunch.
Oh man, I'm sorry LMMS. 🙁
Sorry to hear! Don't give up hope. I say that from experience. I've applied three times and FINALLY got in this year. If this is your dream, keep pursuing it!
Yeah - 'Let's wait 'till after Christmas! It will hurt less'. Just like pulling off a band-aid slowly. Ouch! Perhaps they have something against us folks from NJ? 😎
I was expecting it, but it still sucks. Fingers crossed for some good news coming soon? Hopefully for both of us.I've been toying with perhaps applying to the program independently; but that's a whole 'nother ball of wax...

Squibby and Penny - thanks. I appreciate it a great deal. And Penny, thanks for the vote of confidence, but I already swore to myself that this would be the last go round for me (not getting into the details until ALL the rejections are in place). However, that being said, I should probably mention that my reason for going into vet med is multi faceted and the main reason I applied to OSU was for the Masters of Veterinary Public Health. I've been toying with perhaps applying to the program independently; but that's a whole 'nother ball of wax...
FYI- if you have ANY questions about the MPH-VPH program, please don't hesitate to PM me. I've been through it and I can't say enough positive about my experiences. Highly recommend it.
Oh, dang it! So sorry, LMMS & Whyevernot. Was hoping you two would be able to join the class.
Keeping my fingers crossed that you both get good news from another school! 👍
It's awesome that you'll have your pick of schools!! Way to go!!!!!I hate to hear of someone giving up...so I say go for the MPH.

I 1,000% agree with Penny. I'm in the MPH class one year behind her and I've loved it! I applied to OSU's CVM as an OOS three years ago and was rejected. When I heard about the MPH program, I took a chance and moved here to Columbus. After I had completed the first year of the program, I re-applied to OSU's CVM as IS and was accepted right after my interview.
If your dream is to go to OSU's CVM, definitely check out this program. You get the chance to take Veterinary Preventive Medicine classes (which you would be able to take as vet school electives) and network with instructors and administators at the vet school. The program director is also extremely supportive and protective of his students and I think you'll get more out of a MPH here than anywhere else.
Now, Penny, Evie - my goodness!!!! Really, it's THAT good of a program? Well, I guess it would be... After all, they are the ONLY VPH in the country; and having looked at ALL the schools that offer a DVM/MPH final goal, OSU topped my list. Their vast instruction of zoonotic illness is amazing. Penny, I do have a few questions that I'm certain you can answer; so many thanks for the offer. Look to hear from me sometime soon.

LSD, I notice that you got another interview! That's totally awesome buuuttt...you're still coming to OSU 😛
And I gotta say, the footie pajama party is a pretty big draw.
