I hope not...haha. My parents just let me pick out a new one for Christmas. I chose an ASUS at the recommendation of several people at Best Buy...I guess ASUS makes the the motherboards for HP so it's essentially the same computer (I was originally looking at an HP). With vet school in mind I chose a model with an i3 Processor and 4G/500G. I am one of those people who is CONSTANTLY on the computer so I'm trying to go easy on this one and not fill it up/wear it out. Last one lasted 4 years before it died, so I'm hoping to drag this one out all the way through vet school.

I received my acceptance to Ohio State, and will be joining the Class of 2015! I am so excited - you guys sound really fun! I am in undergrad at Ohio State so I know the area well and can also help with housing advice. I live in the Grandview area, and think it's great. I live in a tiny one-bedroom apartment that allows cats and other pets (no dogs at all though). I think it's a safe area, and it's really quiet and far removed from undergrad campus life. I am trying to decide if I would like to move to someplace a little bigger with a roommate or stay where I am. I wish I could live in the Victorian Village or Harrison West! I disappeared for 2 weeks and come back to such a happy bunch of people on SDN (at least in our Ohio thread 😀!)!! So glad to see people had a wonderful break.
Just wanted to say thanks...OSU is my OOS, but its nice to know that if all else fails with my IS that at least I have you all to fall back on! (Please don't take this as me thinking my IS is any better...its just financially more appealing at this moment! Hope everyone has a wonderful and most importantly RELAXING Spring semester...you all deserve it!!!

Ellie- you and I can have fun falling down the hills while everyone else skiis. All I remember about the last time I went skiing was that I had issues getting off of the lifts-- it's no fun when you bruise your backside from... well... trying to stand....

Um, jealous! Last time I was in CO, (1995-ish), Aspen didn't allow snowboarders on the mountain!
potf and EllieG: I would love to watch you guys tumble down the hill. I will even ask the liftee to slow down the chairlift so you can get off easier. Do you ski or snowboard?

Guys, cool story: last time I skiied, I hit a tree. It was probably ten years ago now. I got a concussion and still have a nice scar on my wrist to show for it. My advice? If you are going too fast, don't squat down on your skis... that's the last thing I remember doing. 😀

I won't say a word. Hopefully none of their adcomms are lurking around the Ohio thread and read your crash story.
My stories: I bruised and lacerated my liver on a big jump in the terrain park. I was a couple mm from breaking the capsule, an injury a guy died from the week before at that hospital. I also had a concussion even though I was wearing a helmet. I spent five days in the hospital. I also have a scar under my chin from a tree branch, a laceration that took two layers of sutures to close. I broke my wrist (also on a jump), it was almost a compound fracture, my wrist was very disfigured.
Shall we have a injury story contest guys?
I only have ever tried to ski. I don't think my lack of coordination would be suited for a snowboard.....

When I got my acceptance letter I noticed that there were no "provisions" listed at the bottom of the page and I know that I have to complete my second physics course before I matriculate in the fall. Even though it wasn't there I'm already in the class and everything so I wasn't terribly concerned. I got this email today; talk about a scare.

I'm guessing everybody who had a pre-req or other condition (such as final transcripts which current Ohio State students don't have to send) on their acceptance that wasn't noted on their acceptance letter.
I got one of those too even though I don't have any conditions. I think they sent the email to all of their accepted students, but those of you with conditions left will get another snail mail letter.
And yeah... the word "error" showing up ANYWHERE in future communication from OSU should be avoided!

😆EllieG - Although I'm sorry for your pain (and everyone else's) this line is simply fabulous (hence the necessity for large font!). May I use it? CLASSIC!!!
And just for kicks - I was on a snowboard one about 10 years ago... Spent most of the day going down the bunny slope backwards on my face. I'm just not coordinated enough for snow gliding. Now, give me a pair of snowshoes and it's a different story. Love snowshoeing!!!

I don't know if I'm missing something or what, but I've been trying to activate my OSU account and nothing is happening. I clicked on the link to "activate account" and filled in all the info it asked for. When I hit the button to activate account nothing happens, zip, zilch, nada!😕 I don't know how I go about getting my name.# Anybody know how to help me, or must I turn to the evil help line that puts you on hold for 15 minutes and then hangs up on you😡
I hear prune juice works well for that kind of problem.

So the battle of wits continues...
I called them (the office of admissions) and they gave that information to me. I would try calling if I were you.
I meant more in terms of getting my acceptance letter in, setting up e-mail, financial aid, all that jazz. There's all these little things to be done, but I know what you mean. There will still be months ahead of just sitting around...
