Wow, Early December. That is quite a wait, and here I am complaining about not hearing since an interview at the end of January. I wonder if the financial troubles are affected their admissions process and making them a little behind schedule...?

It really isn't about when you interviewed. Some interviewees get accepted the same day while others have to wait a long time. Of course, the longer the wait the smaller your chances of getting in.

I have my deposit in there, yes. I just received the interview invite from OHSU yesterday for March 21st and I'm trying to see if it's worth all the time and money to fly out to Portland if I'm just going to be interviewing for a waitlist spot

A while back, I received an email saying that the ADCOM will meet at the end of February and will basically fill the class. They met yesterday (It was THE big meeting that many of us were waiting for) and ppl have been receiving offers... So I really don't know. I, for one, have almost lost hope that there is any seats left. But you can always check with them.

As I said before I received an invite to interview for March 21st (their last interview day). I emailed them back asking if the class was already full and if I'd be interviewing for a waitlist spot. (I really don't want to burn 500 bucks just to get a rejection the next day). They said they don't intervew for waitlist spots, and that there are seats still avaialable. Take that for what it's worth.

I talked with them and the last day for interviews is March 21st and their class is not full yet. So I guess there is still hope......I wonder if they are just about full or if they are still like half full and are going to to a day of mass acceptance after they finish their interviews.........? It is a hopeful thought

I think they went through a "mass acceptance" last week. That is what they said. 😕

When I interviewed there earlier this month, Mark said the meeting will happen at the end of March. I called the admission office a few days ago and they said they don't know exactly when the meeting is but should be sometime next week.

Just had my interview. OHSU was great, everyone was really nice. The rain sucks though.

Yeah the rain sucks big time. It rains pretty much all the time in the fall and most of the winter and spring. Anyways, how was the interview? Did you find out when the ADCOM is going to meet and how many seats are still available?

The interview was very laid back. All the students seemed really tight and I liked that. However, when I went to lunch with my "lunch buddy" 2 of the 3rd years told me that if they had teh option again, they wouldn't go to OHSU, and that I should take my IU acceptance. Kinda depressing. Something about the new "torque cap" or whatever they call it.
I did enjoy the fact that it's in the west, however. Being closer to family has its perks, especially when your wife wants to stay out west.
Oh, and I was surprised that they only interview about 130 people for 75 spots. On the sheet they gave us, they interviewed 130 people last year and extended 111 acceptances. (36 decided not to attend.) Odds are looking good for you, biasab!

I didn't want to say it, but I had a similar experience. Portland is awesome though!

Hey all, I just got accepted a couple of weeks ago. I'm in-state and get this, I interviewed over thanksgiving!!! So yeah, it's quite a wait, but there's still hope.

I just called them up to see what was going on and when they thought they would have the class filled etc. and they just said they dont know when they are going to do it. It would definitely not be this week but she had no idea when it would be done. So I guess we will just continue this annoying and frustrating waiting game! 🙁 I wish they would be a little more on the ball like many of the other schools! I am starting to wonder if this is a sign to just accept other offers....... but Oregon was my top choice....

I called over this morning and spoke with Jenna. Mark is out of the office until next Thursday (4/3), so no meeting until after his return. They seem to be incredibly slow. I was told that from now on they will try to fill the class and establish a waitlist. Then, from now until August you may be notified via AADSAS, email or snail mail whether you got in or not. They didn't give me any sort of time frame at all besides the "before august" deal.

Congratulations airsimon! I haven't heard anything either, biasab. Some decisions were made yesterday and all emails have been sent. I guess I need to start looking at 2009. I hate to say that though.
