Hello readers,
I approximately have a 3.4 (soon to be 3.5 🙂 ) cumulative gpa at UT-Austin. I also have a 3.75 GPA at a community college. My science gpa is ~ 3.4 (C in o chem 1 🙁 UT doesnt allow retakes i think). I yet don't know my PCAT scores at all. I've done community service with Children Miracle Network, Disabled people, and most importantly, March of Dimes foundation. I have a profound hearing loss, which really affects my grades overall. It is not an excuse anyway though would that help at all? I've busted my butt for the past three years doing extracurricular activities... I am also a certified pharmacy technician, however, I could not find a part-time job pharmacy techs or even volunteer pharmacy tech. I'm currently the Vice President of a highly known fraternity. Also, I've been the academic chairman for the past two years and started a new foundation for the house. I am considering only the texas pharmacy schools. How good of my chances are getting in the pharmacy school?

I took practice tests on PCAT and did reasonably well. I hope that the range would be from 60-99 😛.

Thank you for reading in advance.

Respectfully,
DeafRussian

According to my resources, UT REALLY takes into consideration family problems, and the like. You could possibly mention it and maybe say how it has actually helped you ...? Don't mention too much negative, just tell the school how it has affected you positively in the long run.

For UT, a 3.5 is not bad at all. Keep it up, and wait on those slowwww scores to come in.

Hey Deafrussian, I go to UT too and am going to try to apply to UT and UH. UT seems to put a lot of emphasis on experience in the pharmacy field, which is what worries me the most, and will not really help you. However, you DO have a hearing problem and a lot of extracurricular activities, which will work in your favor. I'd say you have a decent chance =].
