So...where are our decisions 😀???

For whom are we so patiently waiting?

(For me, PENN [interview November], Yale [interview October], Harvard [interview December].)

You didn't hear? Everyone is now waiting till April to give decisions.

The AAMC sent out an email. Check your spam.

I'm waiting for UCSD, UCLA, Penn, and Harvard - it's weird because when I look at my calendar for tests or events at the end of the month, I can't help but think "I'll have heard from everyone by then"

here's to surviving the next 28 days

Waiting for Hopkins, Harvard, Penn and Yale...can't complain too much about the wait though, since I interviewed mostly in late January. I can't imagine having been waiting since October!

Waiting on Harvard, Yale, UCLA, Penn, and UChicago still. Can't wait till the end of March!

Harvard (interviewed in December), Hopkins (January) and Yale (October)...

I wish we could fast-forward to the end of March already.

BTW those of you waiting for Yale, I just found out from Sue Sansone that they aren't sending decision letters out until 20 March...so keep up the good wait 🙂.

We must also start obsessing about when Harvard decisions will be out. Who's going to be responsible for compulsively checking the financial aid website?

hahahaha

I've been trying to stir havoc into pre-allo but people don't seem interested

Try these:

1) Giving URM's preferential treatment in the admissions process is bad/good.
2) The DO degree is worse than/equal to/better than the MD degree.
3) Caribbean schools suck/rule.
4) Universal health care is necessary/won't change anything/will ruin it all.
5) Is it MD/PhD or MD-PhD? (oh wait, they won't care...)

Good luck!

I know! What's with people this year? I remember reading the harvard thread last year. People were insane! I can't wait to be a part of it so it better happen this year.

My dirty little secret: A small part of why I wanted a Harvard interview is so that I could participate in the financial aid website checking madness in early march!

What does checking financial aid do? Is there some way to find out if we've been accepted before we get the letter? Where is this financial aid website?

Well in years past after interviews are done all people get a "login failed" message when trying to log into the website. Then suddenly about a week before the decisions arrive int he mail the message changes for some people to "contact financial aid office". The people who get that message went on to be accepted while those who still received the login failed message were waitlisted or rejected. Here's the website: https://itwwebs.med.harvard.edu/FinAidApp/logon.aspx?ReturnUrl=/finaidapp/pghome.aspx

So far no one has reported a change in message this year.

This may interest a few people 😛, but word on the street is that the big H's admissions decisions, at least from the MD side of things, will likely be out next week. Not completely sure about MSTP, but probably around the same time. I've heard that both HST and MSTP do phone calls for accepted individuals; NP obviously doesn't.

I think I need to disappear temporarily from SDN next week, if only for my own sanity, and I absolutely REFUSE to check that financial aid website. :scared:

I'm with you Dodo. I refuse to ruin my spring break by constantly worrying about admissions stuff. That being said, I have been feeling so restless over the past week or so. I think it's all these looming decisions. I can't sleep! It's no school in particular just a combination of a bunch of things. Including how I am supposed to pass my classes when I basically won't be attending class for the entire month of April! :scared:

Relieved to hear I'm not the only one feeling a bit on edge here. I've been having trouble sleeping, too, though I'm physically and mentally exhausted... and focusing on my thesis is tough with so much else on my mind. I think it's mostly the suspense of not knowing, while realizing that in a couple of weeks I'll go from not knowing to having a pretty good idea of where I'll be spending the next 8 years. That's no trivial matter.

oh jeez - spring break has been my first downtime since winter break and it's not quite the recuperative time i imagined...all i do is obsess about admissions!!! aaahh - i'm soooo neurotic!

i'm looking forward to going back to school and being so busy i won't have time to obsess...

...yeah right
