Is it okay to wear blazer, tie & khakis to interview? Or is pretty much everyone interviewing on the same day going to be in a full suit thereby making me stand out like a sore thumb?

Wear a suit man. Dressing unprofessionally is not something you want them to remember you for.

I've seen it done for medical school interviews, and they definitely stood out (and not in a good way). I imagine it would be the same for residency interviews. Wear a suit.

If I were a program director, I honestly probably would not even consider any applicant who showed up in a blazer and khakis, no matter how their interview went. In my opinion, it would show severe ignorance, lack of social awareness, or total apathy. Wear a suit.

If you're heading to a fraternity mixer thereafter, then by all means wear a blazer and khakis. At least you'll be dressed appropriately for half of the functions you attend that day.
