I think this has been discussed a little before but I couldn't find the posts. Does anyone have any information on neighborhoods in stillwater? I am looking to buy something small and close to campus. I am a female that will be living alone with my cats and my golden. My mom is worried about me living alone and I don't think my dog will provide much protection, she's a lover not a fighter! Any way I was just wondering if their were any neighborhoods and/or streets that wouldn't be safe for a female to be living alone in. Any information would be greatly appreciated 🙂

It's Stillwater, not LA or something. It's safe. Lock your doors, don't wander around at night... you'll be just fine. There isn't a bad side of town or anything - it's not a big enough town for that. Some of the housing close to main campus is a bit skeevy, but that's just because it's aimed at college students who are (apparently) willing to live in a shoebox. You should be able to find something acceptable without too much trouble. Let me (and the other Stillwater ladies and those soon to be) know when you'll be in town looking -we're all happy to help. 🙂

Bahahaha yeah. Along with containing probably 80% of the total crime in Stillwater, they also have a pretty rampant bedbug problem.

Yeah my roommates and I didn't lock our doors half the time. We never had a problem. I like Stillwater. It's a nice town and it seems like most people are very willing to help out when needed.

I'm sure I am the only one anxious for the information packets to arrive in the mail, but just in case I'm not alone...

Packets were mailed today. Also, the start/end times listed in SIS for our classes may differ slightly from the actual schedule. We're supposed to go by the schedule in the packet as the official one.

I had to email the admin office with a question and they shared that info.

Oh I didn't even think about them starting earlier. That's not humanly possible. I'm too much of a nocturnal creature for early classes.

I can send you the schedule when I get it if you're just dying to know.

I know for a fact that classes start at like 8:30 or 9:00 am, no sooner than that. You also finish early one day a week generally, so there's an afternoon with some time for sun, pool, riding or whatever... in theory. 🙂

I emailed Anna Teague Monday to update my address. When she responded she attached a letter they just mailed to my old address. It seems the OOS seats are full unless someone changes their mind. Just thought I would let anyone know who may still be waiting for their name to be called.

Oklahoma waitlist was the last one I was waiting to hear from. Congratulations to all those who made it in!!
