Hey, I got rejected by U Louisville pre-secondary, too! Went out to dinner to celebrate my first rejection.
I've been slacking slightly on my secondaries - been busy with kids, husband, studying for the August MCAT (the bio was particularly nasty this time around). But here's my progress (sorry, I get confused at the school acronyms, so I'll spell the names out):
CU: submitted.
Vermont: just about ready, out next week.
Creighton: out next week.
Wright State: out next week.
Michigan State: sent money. waiting.
Rosalind Franklin: haven't heard.
U South Carolina: haven't heard.
I assume I haven't heard from those places because I'm taking the August MCAT, and I plan on adding more next week. (I get my financial aid money Friday, so until then I'm poorer than dirt.)
How are you supposed to know if your LORs got sent out? Some schools have websites to check on your status, but others have nothing. Faith? Hope? ESP? Bugging your letter writers?
On another note, I'm thinking of adding DO schools, too. AACOMAS half done. (Yet more crap to fill out. yuck.)

Our probationary status may last up to 24 months, during which the School will be reviewed for improvements before returning to its previous accreditation status. During the probationary status, the School will continue to be fully accredited by the LCME. This period of growth will not affect our students negatively, and we are confident that students will benefit from

As the LCME noted in its report, and in anticipation of their concerns, we had begun revitalizing the institution by making important changes to our curriculum, infrastructure and University leadership. Unfortunately, the site visit in September 2003 gave only eight months for our administration to prepare, and changes that have been made since that date were not taken into any consideration.
I?d like to outline for you the steps we have already begun and will continue to take to address the LCME?s concerns. We are currently implementing a three-year strategic plan that includes improving the University?s facilities, academic programs and curriculum, solidifying our financial base while diminishing our reliance on tuition, increasing biomedical and clinical research capabilities, and strengthening our partnerships within the region?s medical community.
We have instituted a five-year tuition freeze and are committed to increasing student scholarships. Eighteen months ago, scholarship students comprised only one percent of our student body. Today, 52 percent of students are on scholarships.
We have made significant investments in infrastructure with the construction of several new education centers. Additionally, we are currently in negotiations to strengthen our clinical alliances with leading medical centers in the area.
We also have a new leadership team in place. Four new Deans have joined our faculty, including Dr. Arthur Ross, the new Dean of the Chicago Medical School as of June 1. Together, Dr. Ross, our new academic leaders and I are dedicated to reinvigorating this institution and improving the education we provide to Chicago Medical School students.

Yeah, well, I really want USUHS, and applying to the other DC schools at least increases my chances of knowing where we are gonna live, and my wife can almost definitely continue paralegal work in DC (highest density of lawyers in the world) and maybe go to law school. Also, I'm a Texas resident (in terms of my home of record for the military). Chances are too good, can't pass that up. But I only applied to the ones in a city where we might want to live.
