Old Letters of Recommendation

Hi all,
I apologize if this has been asked before since I wasn't able to find the answer in any posts. I was thinking of applying to med school this application cycle and had asked all my professors for recommendation letters (which I stored in interfolio); however, last minute I decided to cancel my MCAT date ( late August) and postpone my application one year. My question is, does it look bad if I submit those letters? That I'm guessing the professors dated. Because by the time I submit my application those rec letters would have been a year old.

Please, any input would be greatly appreciated...

You can use them but you can also ask the profs to update the letters next year

How old should letters be at the maximum? Will adcoms questions letters that are all 1 year old?

Also, if an applicant is working during the gap year, do medical schools expect a letter from that job?

I included one LOR that was a decade old, and the writer has passed away. BUT I just included it as an extra LOR (one of five) - not one of my required letters. Maybe schools won't take it into account, but I wanted to include it anyway. Make sure you have three current letters that meet school requirements, or contact each school if you have doubts about your letters.
