Anyone hear anything from or about Indiana (aphitis), Oklahoma, Medical College of Georgia.

I have yet to get an interview from an OMFS program with a dental school, but have a handfull from non-affiliated programs. I dont really care if a program is or is not part of a dental school, but I do want to see the difference, if there is one, while interviewing.

Oklahoma is always the last interview of the year. Will be in January, and you'll hear about it in december...that is, unless they change tradition for some reason.

hi,
does anyone know if there are programs that interview over the christmas - new year time period? would it be unwise to take a vacation? i figured they'd all be done by december. guess not.

Three of the ones I applied to are St Raphael, Montefiore, and Emory. There's also all the city hospitals in NYC. Does Mayo have a dental school? UT Knox has no dental school.

Vanderbilt, Emory, St Raphael, all New York programs except NYU and Columbia, Seton Hall, UT Knox, Miami, UF JAX, LSU Shreve, Fresno, Denver Health, Thomas Jefferson, Temple ( I had heard this program was not affiliated with the D School), UT Galveston, Cincin, Metro Health...Probably more, just go to ADEA and look up the programs.

I used to read your posts about your time in the cell at Parkland, and I thought all the "male bonding" jokes were just that, jokes. I am now beginning to think you are to OMFS externs and Program Directors as U.S. House Pages are to Representative Foley. One day you will have to share the text and email messages you have. Whatever it takes though, I am envious as hell of all your interviews.

Dude, these aren't all his interviews. He's compiling all of the known interview dates.

Exactly. Just trying to help Motown out with all the housecleaning. But he is right about the Foley comments. With my numbers, I gotta find other ways to get my foot in the door😀 . Keep your head up man. There are plenty of programs that haven't even looked at their apps yet.

I heard you got more than your foot through the (back)door with the residents at UOP during your externship.

Can anyone comment on which programs have especially good (for whatever reason) or especially bad (for whatever reason) faculty?

sorry about the date mix up. I thought that is what the program coordinator told us... ah well, see you soon.:meanie:

We'll see how far I was able to get my (man)foot in the door come late January. I saw some very strong applicants today😱 It's like you think you have a good shot, then you go to interview and everyone's just as if not more qualified than you. Pretty laid back interview though. Hope Parkland is the same way. So are we responsible for bringing all the $1's?

Quick question for any of you residents: is it bad form to send a thank you via email. Should we send a card via snail mail?

Quick question for any of you residents: is it bad form to send a thank you via email. Should we send a card via snail mail?

This is an easy answer. NEVER EVER send a thank you via email. It's just tacky to use such an informal format to send a thank you note.. Remember....most of these faculty are of your dad's generation and barely know how to check their email. They're a different generation...and I guess I'm on the borderline because I'm amazed that people will send what used to be a formal message in an informal format like email, but these people aren't much younger than me (I'm 31).
