i just checked a status page of a school and realized i got an interview, but the letter was dated 8/22, and it said to respond within 2 weeks...but i totally didn't get the e-mail notification that my status was updated!!!!
what should i do?

They could probably tell you better than we can. (my guess no) Just be honest about what happened, but asking about it on SDN isn't going to make any progress.

which school is it...some schools are known to update their status page without sending an email or letter for a couple of days...ie drexel...cornell sometimes

yeah just call the school. i think those emails are just a formality to be honest. for instance, i had an interview at a school yesterday and had already emailed accepting the date, they supposedly didn't get my email but were still prepared to interview me and had my packet and everything. don't worry, just call...

Just contact them and don't act all panicked. Just ask them to resend the email so that you can set up your interview date- it'll work out.

And remember to check your junk mail box from time to time.
