So I called Drexel this morning to ask about a note on my status page that says "Need transcript" and the conversation went something like this:

"Hi. I'm calling to check on my status page. It says I need to send a transcript. What does that mean since I'm verified by AMCAS?"

"I've never heard of that before. I guess you better send a transcript."

"Is there a way to check the status of my specific application to see if this is some kind of mistake since you've never heard of it before and other people aren't having this problem?"

"No. Just send in a transcript. Alternately, you can email our webmaster because I don't know what's going on."

Wtf? Is anyone else still having this problem? I know medical schools are slammed with requests for information right now, but certainly if it's a unique request couldn't the person on the phone check it out instead of just being dismissive? I really don't want to wait (and pay again - they're expensive!) to have all of my transcripts sent to Drexel again after already being verified, when this isn't a normal occurrence.

Status page says no transcripts, however, I already have an email from them saying Im complete, so I ignored the status page. Many schools seem to have issues with keeping the status up to date. Kind of annoying and defeats the purpose, but oh well, after a while, you just get used to incompetence in life.

hahahaha 👍 😀

I'm amazed that this has been a frequent question in several threads and many people have e-mailed and called Drexel to find out the answer to this one simple question. Nobody has been able to answer them. I know stiffany has e-mailed Drexel several times, received read receipts, and gotten no response.

Admissions should be the one part of the medical school that works well. It should be your face to the world. What does this say for the functioning of the rest of the medical school?

Is there a button to check your secondary status? I just logged in to Drexel's site a few minutes ago, but there is no link in the "Check Application Status" box. I've had an issue with this before that was browser-related; is there anything I need to do to see the link?

https://banner.drexel.edu/pls/duprod/bwskasta.P_DispStatusSaradap?appno=1 Go there and put in your banner id and pin (received via email). If you scroll down on the page you'll see the boxes with secondary received date and others like (my) woeful transcript received box.

I had this issue and I called them. The woman I spoke to told me it was an error with the system, that no transcript was required, and she went into the system and changed my status immediately to complete. She told me a lot of people have been having this issue. Grr...this process is stressful enough without technical difficulties!

Tell me about it. I went to the link provided and the information conflicts with the other site. For instance, it doesn't list my secondary as being received; says it received my MCAT data last month (which would have been a feat, considering I only received the scores last Friday), etc., etc.

Oh, they are so getting a wtf e-mail. Polite, but wtf nonetheless.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that schools CAN't look at your transcript until you have been accepted. That's what the AMCAS is for.

I still haven't received a secondary!!! I wish they had a more aggressive money-grubbing secondary sending machine in place, like NYMC. I got their secondary before even being verified by AMCAS.

So I submitted my application by mail on 9/2 since their server was having trouble. (surprise!). I chekc their online update page periodically, and it says that I haven't given the LOR's. I figured it might take a few weeks since they're slammed and incompetent. After four weeks, they still haven 't receieved them. BULL! I sent them ELECTRONICALLY. If They're not lost or stuck behind someone's file cabinet. I called them last week to ask what the heck they're doing. (tactfully and defferentially of course). They said that they haven't recieved them, did I send them? Ummm yes. Great, so why did I bother rushing around filling out their dumb app if it was going to sit around? AUUUGHHH IT Makes me want to tear my hair out. THank you for your patience with my rant.

I hate that other people are having these same problems, but at the same time your posts make me feel much better by making me feel like it's okay to be so frustrated with Drexel! I already emailed them about this awhile back (with no response) and I know they at least opened the email because I received a read receipt. I'm just going to ignore it for the next few days and hope it goes away (not likely) and then call again as necessary.

I feel your pain. I had to email them about LOR's several weeks ago because I was supposed to be complete at the middle of September and the site still said LOR's not received. The woman I talked with on the phone was very polite and helpfull and checked my file on the spot. She confirmed that my LOR's were there and changed my status to complete. This new system they have is ust very glitchy I think. I'm sure it is frustrating for them as well.

I called Drexel earlier to inquire about my LORs, which are up on VirtualEvals. The lady I spoke to told me that they're not going to accept any electronic copies, and that I should have my school send the letters in hard copy form. (Why would they be on the list of schools that accepts VirtualEvals if they only accept hard copies?) Can anyone confirm this? I would normally just take her word for it, but she also told me that I needed to send in all my transcripts as well, which doesn't seem to be the case.

I don't think she knows what she's talking about. I've called Drexel several times and it's a hit or miss with who you talk to. Some people don't know what's going on and others are really helpful. I used VirtualEvals and Drexel received my LORs just fine. Of course I had to call and tell the person to download them. I also called two other times and asked about the transcript box in the status page. The first person wasn't very helpful so I called again and the lady told me that it was a glitch and she went into the system and removed the transcript box and gave me a COMPLETE status. I suggest just calling until you get someone who knows what's going on. Hope this helps.

I called today to ask about the same issues - recommendations not received after 3 weeks and the weird transcript request - because I hadn't gotten a response to the email I sent like a week and a half ago. I asked first about the recommendations and the lady I spoke to went to check. After quite a while on hold, she came back, apologized for the wait, and said that she's not sure why the status page says that but that they have received everything and my app is being reviewed. At that point I just thanked her and didn't ask about the transcript thing - I figured if I was under review it must not really matter. A few hours later my status page was miraculously updated to show that I'm complete and the transcript thing was gone. Sounds like I got lucky and talked to the right person - you guys who have been told to send all this stuff to the school might want to try calling again? Oh, I also sent my LORS electronically through Interfolio with (relatively) no problem, so I'm not sure why they're saying that. :luck:

Good to see I'm not the only one having this problem.

I e-mailed them a week ago and have gotten no answer yet. 😡

Me, too. I e-mailed and got no response. I hate how their phone menu tries to direct you to e-mailing and gives absolutely no default option for talking to a "representative" if your call doesn't fall into any of the aforementioned categories.

Sure it does! At the end of the menu it tells you to hold (or press another number, i can't remember) for an admissions person if you didn't want any of the categories.

Really?! I must be deaf. I'm calling again tomorrow. 😳
