OMT practical exam

I am currently doing a fellowship in Michigan and am looking at a job in Pennsylvania and discovered i need to take a practical examination in Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy in order to get a state license.

1. does anyone have any information about this examination? specific subject matter, difficulty, items to study (i haven't done omt in over 5years)

2. Anyone know a way around taking this test?

So i would recommend knowing how to diagnose all segments (cervical, thoracic, lumbar, sacrum/pelvis) Thats the hard part. The easy part is the treatments. You should probaby know at least one type of treatment (Soft tissue, Muscle energy, HVLA, Counterstrain, Myofascial release) for each segment.

Here are some examples from my second year find it / fix it exam:

Cervical

HVLA
- Cervical HVLA
ME
- Set up like HVLA with ME
- Scalene ME
Counterstrain/FPR
- cervical fpr
- balanced ligamentous tension
Myofascial release/soft tissue
- Killer Fingers
- Soft tissue

Thoracic

HVLA
- Kirksville crunch
- Crosshand pisiform
Counterstrain/FPR
- anterior thoracic tenderpoints
Myofascial release/soft tissue
- indirect thoracolumbar fascial release
- soft tissue prone
HVLA
- Lumbar on Side
- Lumbar walk around
ME
- walk around ME modification
Counterstrain/FPR
- anterior lumbar tender points
Myofascial release/soft tissue
- soft tissue prone
- indirect thoracolumbar fascial release

Sacrum/Pelvis

HVLA
- Anterior sacrum on side
- Posterior sacrum, ilium thrust prone
ME
- anterior or posterior innominate
Counterstrain/FPR
- Iliolumbar ligament counterstrain?
- Pelvic balancing?
Myofascial release/soft tissue
- indirect sacral release

Really though, i don't really know much about this test you have to take. Hope this is helpfull though
