Hey, what up?
I was just curious as to whether I could solicit some anonymous advice here... It is getting later, and I still haven't submitted my AMCAS- are the first primaries processed the first one to be transmitted to schools? Obviously, sooner is better than later with this stuff, but does it really make a difference if you are processed in mid-June or early July. Just morbidly curious...

-Thanks

The sky is falling, the sky is falling.

Don't believe everything that your read on this site. I didn't apply until quite late last year. I didn't get my transcripts in until Sept and I didn't submit until last Sept. I was still finishing up secondaries in November.

And I only applied to 5 schools. That's it. I got two 2 acceptances and 1 waitlist.

So, relax.

Most people are held up by the secondaries and the letters of rec. Just make sure you take care of those as they come in and before the end of August and you will be fine and still ahead of the game.

Many of the Adcoms are on vacation now anyway,

Well I wouldn't lolly-gag quite that much, September IS late to submit your AMCAS, but submitting in July I imagine is about average. Unless you have stellar stats, I would wait too much longer...get going man! Once you submit the AMCAS, then you can have a little bit of a breather until secondaries start rolling in.

A resounding absolutely ZERO difference between mid-june submission to early july submission. Most schools are still busy with the previous cycle that they haven't even thought about the idea of transmitting new applications yet. Last year, I submitted my application at the end of June, with everything processed and verified by the 1st wk of july. but no schools transmitted the application until 7/15 at the earliest. so my app was actually sitting there for a week or so. And yes, those who submitted 6/1 had their apps sitting in the same pile as mine until 7/15. so don't trip. just submit soon, when you're ready, and make sure everything else is ready (letters of rec, transcripts, etc.) best of luck!

Agreed. You'll be okay in early July. The risk comes with making sure you get processed before "the rush".

Good luck.

You will be fine. Just get it in as soon as possible (that being before October). I was an August MCATer and my application wasn't complete until sometime around mid-October. I still managed to squeeze out 2 acceptance and 3 waitlists. That said, sooner is definitely better. It's stressful when you don't get your first acceptance until May....

I was a procrastinator and a half. I think I submitted my AMCAS at the end of July. It didn't hurt me. I just got my interviews much later in the application cycle though. Eventually, I got into several top 10 schools. My advice is to submit your AMCAS no later than the end of July and try to submit your secondaries with lightening speed to make up. Don't fret, just make sure what you submit is what you want representing you to the admissions committees.

seconded 👍

mid july should be ok. so dont worry about it.
the person that didnt finish till sept and only applied to 5 schools.
that person either had awesome stats and an awesome application OR
he/she had a very reliable state school.

Well, I'm kinda in the same boat...I'm working on my app right now and I'm hoping to have submitted by the end of the week. Transcripts, however, probably won't get there by then...dangit. Now the OP has me worried too.

uh uh im scared also..hold me!
my transcript for this term wont be in till august 13th...will that be too late? do i apply without this summer's grade? thank you.

SOMEONE HELP ME...
u know how it is when u watch a thread and keep clicking refresh to see if people have fortold ur doom yet.. * CLICKS REFRESH*

Will the grade affect your GPA? If not, don't worry about it. Even if it's one of your last pre-reqs, it shouldn't matter. After you apply, you can just send your updated transcripts in to each school (by email).

That said, apply, apply, apply.

i wouldn't worry about it too much. i still haven't sent mine in yet. i figure a really awesome personal statement and great LORs and an app that's a little late is better than an app already sent in with an okay statement and okay LORs. you'll be fine as long as you get it in soon. 🙂

Yeah, it'll be fine 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

Screwed. I didn't read the thread, but I love the 1 to screwed scale. One of my all-time favorites.
