Ok i was just looking over some basic costs ?? - can it really cost 144212.74 US dollars for college ? and if so - how does everybody afford it . over here in england, the government pays most and you pay maximum 21631.91 us dollars for 4 years

Most people pay for their education with government-subsidized loans, and repay them with their earnings once they're in practice. There are several options in different health fields for repayment programs, usually in return for a period of committed service, but most doctoral students over here finance their own educations.

Just to clearify the above post. Most students pay for there own healthcare doctoral program. If it is a Ph.D prgram, then the university pays you to be there.

I think one of the other differences with the university systems here and in the UK/Europe is that in the US *anybody* (with money... 😉 ) has the opportunity go to university, but in the UK/Europe your entrance is based on the performance on high-school (or the equivalent) exam scores. (Someone please correct me if this has changed.)
