Any recommendations to learn basics of medical transcription?

I will be learning at a urgent care center. But, I would prefer to start with som working knowledge in my back pocket.

You can, but you will be learning a lot of ICD 9 coding etc. is this something necessary, or is it a scribe job? Plus the training is longer to be a certified medical transcriptionist as well so if it's not something you're likely to use, it's unnecessary. A medical transcriptionist doesn't have pt interaction as well, it's sitting at the computer processing codes for billing purposes, essentially

You can certainly take an online course for medical terminology, if that is your concern, if it's a scribe job and you want to be extra prepared
