Online courses

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I posted on your other thread by accident but Mountain State University is accredited and offers a range of physics classes (among others) online. I've had no problem with pharmacy schools accepting classes I took there. You can go to www.mountainstate.edu and click on independent study.

Does anyone know where I can find reputable online courses to fulfill prerequisites?
Try your local community/technical colleges. I just got through taking economics online - it was a great experience, and I only had to go to campus for the final exam.

I second the local community college. I took anatomy & physiology I & II online. My school has proctored exams, so I think it looks a little bit better than doing the entire thing online. Check with the admissions committee about online classes though. When I went to the UF orientation this past fall, they said this was the first year that online classes would be accepted for your pre-reqs.

I didn't ask what happened before that. If I took it online, it wouldn't have counted?

Thanks for the link. I just checked it out and wow!, they really do offer a ton of online classes. One question though. I need a calculus based physics and I see that they have that, but the only lab is General Physics Lab. Have you taken any physics classes with them before?

Sorry, I haven't taken any physics classes there (just chem and economics). But they are usually pretty quick to respond to emails, you could try emailing the instructor or the independent study office to find out if the lab is what you need.

There was a website I visited months ago, displaying every online class in the nation. Anyone know the address???

Not sure if this is the same one, but I've used http://www.gnacademy.org a lot.

If you're in California, the community colleges that seem to have the most online course offerings (and easy to get into - lots of spaces, classes don't fill up in a day) are:
- Foothill (www.foothill.edu)
- Cerro Coso (www.cerrocoso.edu)
- Coastline (www.coastline.edu)

I've also taken Calculus from Louisiana State Univ (www.is.lsu.edu)
