So it looks like I'll have to take an intro Microbiology course before classes start at the end of June. I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with an online Microbio course, or really any online science course for that matter, and was willing to make a recommendation? I was looking into the BYU Independent Study Microbio (cheapest), but have also heard UNE offers a course for a bit more.

Ideally, I'd like to complete the course in a timely fashion (3 months or less). Is this a reasonable timeframe?

Thanks for any and all help!

I'm taking anatomy online through BYU. It's not too bad but you will have to take the midterms and finals in person at a testing center.

is BYU anatomy legit though???? looks so easy and its only 144. Online classes at ucla are like 600

is it online so I can basically take it on my own time?
I'm on mobile right now, so it's a little hard to look up. Make sure you find the college level anatomy course; the high school level one is like $150.

But yeah, it's 100% on your own and you have 12 months to do it

Do you think it's possible to complete the course in less than 3 months?

How does one take microbiology without a lab? Kind of defeats the whole purpose.

I would say so. It depends how much studying you put into it. In the anatomy course, there are 19 quizzes, two midterms, and two finals. I finished the first half of the quizzes really quickly and now I'm just procrastinating the midterms because there isn't a testing center within 65mi of my house, so I have to take off from work.

Not sure why the lab's not required, but hey, I don't make the rules.

Not all dss are as understanding as MWU AZ.
Yep, I was fortunate with them.

Also the BYU course for anatomy is only three credit hours, not four. MWU AZ only requires three credit hours, but that is a recent change for them. Need to make sure whoever you are trying to transfer the credits into does not also require four.

I'd recommend taking your science classes in person, unless you already have an acceptance and can verify your credits will transfer. I hate cheating myself out of truly learning the material, but it was either take this class online or quit my job

Yea I really didn't plan on taking it online either. But I was recently accepted to a school that requires it, and since my second semester is well underway, it would appear online is my only option.

Thanks for the help!

Do you have to take all BYU's class in person> do they set you up with testing center?
