I was looking over some of the recently opened medical schools and have to wonder if any OOS students are going to apply? In the case of brand new schools they typically offer great financial incentives to the inaugural class, so I can understand OOS students applying. But what about their subsequent classes? It seems with the small class sizes, preference for in-state students (even the private schools), lack of school history, and of course ongoing construction there seems to be little reason for OOS students to apply unless there is some kind of incentive.
Are these schools offering something for 2nd, 3rd, etc. year students or is everyone OOS just bypassing these schools?
