OOS Applicant to TMDSAS

Hi, just wondering if high stat ORM applicant (like 4.0/525) would have success in TMDSAS schools. No ties to Texas, moderate research (no pubs), good amount of volunteering (working with diverse communities).

Just started considering Texas schools this week and want to know if it's worth it to spend time on TMDSAS application.

The good news is you don’t have to prove any Texas ties, and high stat applicants are the ones who get interviewed in Texas.
Besides writing 2 extra essays, heads up that you need to give consent for MCAT to release your scores to TMDSAS. Do this on the MCAT portal.

If you get an A at one school, it'll basically mean that app cycle will be your only app cycle - not a bad thing, unless you didn't apply to all the schools you wish you would've. And Texas schools are the type to not be about "personal liking" - everyone wants lower tuition. So I'm sure most wish they would've applied if they hadn't, but it'll just take some extra leg work
