At ICO they give us the chance to test out of the ophthalmic optics lab by basically taking the final lab practical (final) before you take the class. Anyone can take it, but it is really for those who were opticians or worked in an OD's office before they came to school.
Well anyway, I took it and passed so now I don't have to take the lab next year!!! This also allows me to TA the lab and do my required dispencing times this summer instead of during the semesters next year. I can get my hours done for all of 2nd and 3rd year! We have to dispence during 14, 4 hour slots...thats 56 hours of dispensing. At least I can get it over with.
Do any of the other school have this option.
