Opinions on studying during semester??

Hey everyone, I'm wondering your opinions on my current plan for my MCAT. I'm planning on knocking my content review out this summer, with a few breaks due to vacation. Then, I'd be studying during the semester (FLs, UWorld, content review as needed, etc.) and taking it in January, as I only have classes three days a week this fall semester. My logic is that I'd rather take it earlier than spring so I have time to retake if necessary for next cycle because I tend to choke on major exams. So I guess the main question is if MCAT prep is too much to handle during school? Any tips? Thanks in advance
