What are my options if i want to continue in some sort of medical field(MD, DDS, Chiro, Audio.. etc), but do not want to complete a post-bacc or masters? I looked into some Chiropractor schools and they seem unaccredited and a waste of time/money for me. I don’t mean to offend anyone by this statement. Although I have already found the list of chiropractic colleges, I just don’t feel confident about them. I apologize if I posted something about chiro here; I just could not find another place to put it in SDN.

OP do you not want to do any more schooling at all or just don’t want to do a masters and go straight to a doctorate-level program?

If you've taken the usual pre med classes in your degree already, apply to med school. If you haven't, apply for a job in whatever field your degree is in.

What's your question, exactly?

Your question is not clear. If you have the grades, background, and most importantly, the desire to be a physician, then all those fields are open. If you do not have either the grades or prereqs, then you wont be accepted with completing those requirements. Additionally, you do not have to be in a formal postbacc or SMP but need simply to take the courses and get the grades. All of this really depends on your academic record and your motivation/commitment

I have the prereqs, but my grades can be better. I don’t want to have additional schooling beyond undergrad besides getting into some medical professional school (I.e not necessarily inclusive of physician as what I had mentioned in my original post). Any thoughts about chiro school?

My question is that are there any programs out there that can give me in some sort of medical profession without wasting time in case I don’t get accepted?

Let’s back up and figure out what your actual goal is and where you are now. In college? High school?

Why are you so acutely worried about “wasting time” in a process that must be very well planned and deliberate? Realize that you don’t know how long becoming a doctor and practicing will take, because you don’t know what residency and possible fellowship you will pursue.

One or two gap years is basically the new norm these days anyway.

Your post reads like someone who wants a job and to be called Dr. Wilber but doesn’t want to wait around learning all the stuff and putting in the work.

Take a word of caution, which is to consider what you want and why you want it before you decide on a career.

Best to talk to your school's career counseling center

Depends what your grades are!

Chiro can be a fun and rewarding profession, but be aware there is no post graduate employment grantees like there are in medicine. The career path is much more variable and you need more business sense in order to build a successful practice. Also educational quality varies MUCH more widely by school for chiro.

Can Chiropractors work in a hospital setting? What is the employment rate upon completion of program? Do you know of any good accredited schools?

why do you want to be a chiro?

I’m currently a chiro student finishing soon and going straight to medical school. I was faced with the same decision, not quite as vague as you mentioned, but I chose to go to Chiropractic school. I’ve found many benefits in it but I still greatly regret spending the amount of money I did to do it. If I could do it again I would go med school first and then if I was still interested I would learn what they teach in Chiropractic school. Don’t base Chiropractic on whether you get in or not because you’ll get in no matter what. There was a business major in one of my classes. Talk about disgusted, with my extensive science background. You need to decide what you truly want to do. But the person above was right about after you graduate. There’s no job security and you can forget other chiro’s helping you out.
