OREF - Ortho Summer Research Fellowship?

Hey Guys,

Have any 2nd-4th year students participated in the OREF Medical Student Orthopaedic Summer Research Fellowship? I just applied to it, but it doesn't pay as well as some. However, I have also heard that an OREF fellowship is a pretty decent resume builder. Can anybody validate this? Should I take more money or the OREF for prestige? I also understand that it is most likely the research experience itself that is most important. The project should publish and do quite well, so all else being equal what do you guys think?

hey what format did you use for your research plan? i just found about this fellowship recently and now i am trying to put something decent together....

I applied last year and didn't get it. I used a grant format: Hypothesis, Specific Aim, Background, Methods, Expected Findings, References. The 2 page limit doesn't include references.

Of course I didn't get it but I hope this helps.
