Which is the correct order from lowest to highest field for the chemical shifts of the numbered sets of protons in the H NMR spectrum of this compound..

BrCH2OCH2CH3
^A ^B ^C

Okay..the right answer is A<B<C. I thought the right answer was C<B<A
I thought the higher the ppm the higher the field..so then the H's in the middle of Br and O would be in the highest field and the H's on the methyl at the end would be at the lowest field?

The highest numbers are downfield.

oh yea So highest field=downfield? In this question they said highest field..not highest numbers. So, I should just go with

highest field=lowest numbers=upfield.

lowest field=highest numbers=downfield
