Did anyone get into a DO program without taking this lab?
After taking Orgo Lab I I will have enough credits in chem according to the school websites in order to apply, but I know part 2 of Orgo lab is required by many (if not all) MD programs. So just wondering how this works...

It is required just like in every MD program. MD and DO schools have the same requirements.

Does anyone know of any good Web sites that explain the SN1 SN2 E1 and E2 reaction mechanisms? I am looking for a site that "animates" the reaction. I am having a lot of trouble understanding them, and I think maybe if I saw it, it would help.

Thank you very much 😀

I am pretty sure you have to have 1 full year of Organic Chem Lab. Some schools may have more credits for there labs so that might be what you are referring to for the credits, but you have to take both parts 1 and part 2. Sorry 🙁

in my school we only had 1 orgo lab and it was 2 credits and no school ever contacted me telling me that I needed another semester of orgo lab. so im assuming it has a lot to do with how many credits your orgo lab is

The rule is 2 hours of ochem lab, whether it was one semester of 2 hours or two semesters of 1 hour each.

A lot of schools don't even offer 2 seperate O-Chem labs. It's an hour requirement like the above poster stated. I have contacted many schools and all have said 2 hours.
