Hi Guys,

I just joined this forum website, and I'm so glad there is somewhere I can ask questions regarding Pre dental admissions. I have a question, I'm currently applying to dental schools this upcoming winter. I'm currently taking ORGO 2 and lab this summer at another college, but I afraid that I might get a C in this class. Would it be better to apply with me finishing orgo 2 and having a C, or just applying without it but fulfilling the requirements by taking it somewhere else in the spring semester?

Thanks!

first of all, welcome to SDN...

second of all, I really don't think it will matter if you get a C in orgo2. it sounds to me you have stellar stats, since your so worried about the C....I'm assuming you above a 3.4, or somewere along the lines....(please don't get mad at me if I'm wrong, im assuming...lol), but I would finish it, and send it along with my app, and never talk about it again. I wouldnt talk about it in my app essay, or my app in general. I'm not sure who brought this up on SDN once...but adcoms aren't gonna be looking at each little grade on your transcript that they get from the AADSAS, they'll be looking at your sci, and your cum, and maybe just maybe at your nonsci....if for some ******ed reason one of them notices that C and I doubt they will, just bring it in a possitive way....eg. I know I got a C, but it was actually the first time in my life I learned something...like the professor was the best professor i ever had, but i guess he was strict with the grades, but I'm so glad i got a chance to take that class, etc...just as an example of course....also quoting someone here from the SDN family, never bring down the professor in front of the adcoms...as in never say anything bad about him/her....don't try to make excuses...i can personally gaurantee you they've hard everything....

I hope this helps....take care and best of luck...

The best possible approach may be to simply apply prior to finishing the class. You can update that grade and all your other ones with the schools that require it. Many don't care about receiving official grade updates and only want you to notify them if you fail or don't take a prereq.
